This rear shock absorber is the perfect choice for stock ride height Rangers that spend time both on and off-road. In particular, this rear damper utilizes a twin tube pressurized nitrogen gas-charged design and progressive engagement valving. This unique design offers more responsive damping when negotiating rough terrain and a smooth ride when on the highway. Moreover, this rear damper features an internal rebound bumper designed to absorb internal impact forces when it bottoms out greatly reducing harshness.
Tough Build Quality. This rear damper’s 2.25-inch diameter shock body is machine-formed from a tough alloy, offering superior strength and excellent heat dissipation. Additionally, this shock employs a 16mm nitro-carburized steel piston rod making it more than capable of handling the knocks of the trails. Meanwhile, an accordion polyvinyl dust boot is included, providing the piston rod and seal with debris protection. Finally, this damper is finished in a silver-gray liquid metallic finish for maximum corrosion protection.
Direct Install Procedure. This rear shock is designed as a direct replacement for your Ranger’s factory counterpart. Consequently, installation does not require any modifications to your vehicle. Also, installation is completed using just standard hand tools. However, it’s recommended that the person handling the installation has moderate mechanical expertise. This is to ensure that the shock is properly secured to your vehicle.
