Hey, guys. It's Sara with americantrucks.com and today we have a review and install of the Power Stop Evolution Cross-drilled and Slotted Six-lug Rotors for the front, fitting your '09 and newer Ford F-150s. This is perfect for the F-150 owner who's looking for an upgrade over their factory rotors. This is an excellent performance option that's gonna get you the drilled and slotted rotor, but is still budget-friendly. These rotors feature heavy-duty iron construction with a natural finish. Their drilled and slotted design is gonna boost braking performance and minimize fade. These rotors are perfect for the street and occasional off-road use. The drill design on the rotor is gonna keep your brakes cool and the slots are gonna keep them dust-free as well. Coming in at around $175, this is definitely a budget-friendly way to upgrade your front rotors. They're only a few bucks more than OE replacements and they're definitely gonna save you a bunch of money over other performance options. So as far as install goes, I'm giving this one a two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. It can be done in approximately two hours and features a direct bolt-up installation. For this install, you will need an impact gun or a ratchet, 13-millimeter socket, 21-millimeter socket, a pair of pliers or Channellocks, a caliper hanger tool or a bungee cord, and a caliper tool or a C-clamp. All right. So the first step in our install, you're gonna remove the two 13-millimeter bolts holding on our caliper. You're also to wanna grab a caliper hanger or a bungee cord, something to support the caliper out of the way while you're working. All right. So grab your 13-millimeter socket. We're gonna loosen this bolt. You may want something to hold this slider in place so it doesn't move. So grab a pair of pliers or even Channellocks would work and just break it loose. Repeat that process on the bottom bolt of your caliper. Wiggle your brake caliper loose and then you wanna just hang it out of the way, making sure that there's no tension on your brake line. All right. Now you're gonna remove the two 21-millimeter bolts that are holding on your caliper bracket. You may want a swivel head for this. All right. And since our rotor does seem to be pretty loose, we're just gonna throw a lug nut on there for safety. Now we can remove our bracket. Now we can go ahead and remove the rotor. Now, if yours doesn't seem to wanna come off as well as ours does, you can grab a rubber mallet. Just tap around the edge and it should come loose. All right. So now we have the factory rotor uninstalled from the truck. We can check it out side by side with our Power Stop rotor. So as you can see, this one is drilled and slotted, so it's a performance upgrade to the OEM rotor. It's gonna keep your brakes a whole lot cooler and dust-free for enhanced performance over an OEM replacement. Now, speaking of OE replacements, Power Stop does offer one if that's more your speed and they also offer a rotor that's tailored for if you tow more frequently. So with that said, let's get this installed on our truck. All right. So before we get this on the truck, you might wanna hit it with a little bit of brake clean, front and back, just to clean off some of the oils that come on from the factory. Get it lined up on here. And it is worth noting that these are directional because they're drilled and slotted, so you wanna grab the one that says front passenger side because we're working on the passenger side. Grab your lug nut and get it on there as well, just to hold the rotor in place from falling off while we get the bracket installed. All right. Since we're only installing the rotor, we're not gonna mess with this caliper bracket or the pads right now, but for you at home, you may wanna take this apart and just clean it up, maybe grease it again and just double check that your sliders are working and the boots are not torn. Line your bracket up over top of your rotor and reinstall the factory hardware. Grab your 18-millimeter socket and tighten these down. Grab your caliper off the hanger and then you wanna get it over top of your brake pads. But if it doesn't really wanna go on there nicely, you may need to push the pucks in on the caliper a little bit. Grab a caliper tool, or if you don't have one, a C-clamp will do. Just make sure you're pushing them both in evenly. And you don't need to go a lot, just a little bit to get that extra bit of clearance. Grab your factory hardware and reinstall it into the back of the sliders. Grab your 13-millimeter socket and tighten these down. You may want to use a set of pliers to hold the slider in place as you do that. Repeat that for the bottom. All right. So that's gonna do it for the review and install of our Power Stop Evolution Cross-drilled and Slotted Six-lug Rotors for the front. Remember, for all things F-150, keep it at americantrucks.com.
