Description

It has been designed to deliver power more efficiently from the engine to the wheels so you can enjoy more torque and faster acceleration. Indeed, this ring and pinion kit is ideal for power hogging operations.
Industrial-Grade Steel. Nitro built these Ring and Pinion gears from industrial-strength 8620 steel which have been precision machined with the use of computer-controlled technology. The manufacturing process also includes heat treating, CNC triple lapping, and Rockwell testing to ensure quality and superb operation.
Recommended Upgrade. Modifications to the gear ratio of your Ford F-150’s differential may cause the speedometer to show the wrong speed. However, using a handheld tuner (not included) easily fixes this.
Note on Installation. The installation of these Ring and Pinion gears involves a complex and delicate process. We recommend the help of a highly qualified and experienced mechanic.
2-Year Warranty Coverage. This Ring and Pinion gear kit carries Nitro Gear & Axle’s two-year warranty against defects in structural workmanship. Some conditions may apply.
Application. This 3.27 ratio Nitro Gear & Axle 8.8 in. Rear Ring Gear and Pinion Kit is specifically designed for 1997-2009 Ford F-150s with an 8.8 inch (10 bolt) independent rear suspension differential. Most installers highly recommend the use of a master bearing kit, especially on high mileage trucks.
Please Note. Get in touch with your local Ford dealer if you’re unsure if your F-150 has an 8.8 in. (10 bolt) or a 9.75 in. (12 bolt) differential.
Technical Note. If your F-150 is a four-wheel drive model, it is required to match both the front and rear gear ratios to prevent damage to both the transfer case and transmission. To ensure proper installation, we recommend working with a qualified shop that you trust.
