4.6L Application Notes. To determine what version of the 4.6L is in your truck, you would need to refer to your VIN number. If the 8th digit in the VIN # is "W" it is the 4.6L 2V. If the 8th digit in the VIN # is "8" it is the 4.6L 3V.
