Each gear is forged out of 8620-grade triple alloy steel, a metal that features stronger core for better stress and torque-resistance. The gear teeth are finely machined to provide optimal clearances, backlash, and bearing preload. This ensures a quiet and wear-resistant differential assembly.

      Speedometer Recalibration Required. Don’t forget to recalibrate your gears before driving on the road. Speedometer readings are affected by changes in gear ratio and will throw off the speed measurements. Use a tuner or recalibration device to update your truck’s computer.

      Auto Shop Service Recommended. Installing your new Motive Performance Front Ring Gear and Pinion Kit would require the use of special equipment and tools.       2-Year/100,000-Mile Warranty. Motive warrants the Motive Performance 8.25 in. IFS Front Ring Gear and Pinion Kit to be free from factory defects for up to 2 years or for 100,000 miles of use, whichever comes first. The coverage includes material and workmanship defects but excludes incidental damages.

      Technical Note. Chevy Silverado 4WD models must have matching or close to identical front and rear gear ratios. Using the 4WD on differing gears will result in failures in your drivetrain components including your driveshaft, axle shaft, and transmission.
