Description
Address Excessive Blowby. Often in high-performance applications, the factory PCV system isn't well equipped enough to handle the amount of blow-by that occurs under aggressive driving. When the PCV system is overwhelmed, it often sucks oil and oil vapor through the valve covers and into the intake, causing excessive smoke, fouled intake sensors, and even pre-detonation due to fuel dilution. One of the best ways to combat an ill-equipped PCV system is to install a high-quality catch can, like this Mishimoto Aluminum Oil Catch Can.Â
Separate and Extract Oil Vapors. So how does a catch can function? This product is installed in line with your F-150's PCV hose, between the PCV valve and the recirculation port of the intake. As hot oil vapor enters the catch can, it's rapidly cooled and returns to its liquid form, sinking to the bottom of the can for disposal at a later date. The Vented air that leaves the can is clean and relatively vapor-free, recirculating into the intake as designed.
Large Capacity. This catch can features a large, 900-CC capacity for less frequent maintenance, allowing you to dump the reservoir every few months rather than weekly.
