Hey, guys. Joe from American Trucks. And today I'm going to be reviewing and installing the MBRP Black Series 3 inch Dual Exhaust System with a Middle Side Exit fitting all 2015 and newer 5.0 F-150s. This exhaust is going to be perfect for the 5.0 owner that's looking the improve the sound out of their truck with an awesome black powder coated exhaust that's also budget-friendly and exits right in front of the rear tire. Now the biggest thing about this is volume and it definitely delivers, as you guys just heard. It's a strong four out of five on our wake the neighbors scale as this definitely is not the exhaust you want if you're looking to fly under the radar. This is going to get you noticed for sure. And that's not necessarily a bad thing and we didn't experience any drone in the cabin when we were out driving this thing, just pure 5.0 goodness. It definitely sounds awesome and the tone is great as well. It's manufactured out of 3-inch diameter aluminized steel, which features MBRP straight through muffler in the middle. The tailpipes are also 3-inch diameter steel and those are then sealed in a durable black powder coating that not only adds to the looks but the durability of the aluminized steel as well. And as you can see, you get some awesome 4-inch diameter slash cut tips embossed with the MBRP logo. Now one thing I wanted to touch on or the differences between some of the MBRP exhaust you guys are seeing on the website. The black series is going to sit one notch above the installer. They're both aluminized steel, but the black series is again sealed in that black powder coating which adds to the looks and the durability as well. From there, you step up to the XP series, which is going to be 409 stainless throughout his construction, and then the top of the range is going to be the pro series, which is going to be that best of the best 304 stainless that's going to be great to hold up through those salty winter conditions. Pricing is going to be right in the middle ground where I'd expect it at around 575 bucks. While some of the cheaper kits might give you the volume, they also come with a pronounced drone and some of the premier brand kits will feature that high-grade stainless steel that justifies their price and for what this, price is right in the middle and it is a fair price for what you paid for. Also included in that price is MBRP's three-year materials warranty and one-year finished warranty. Before we move on to the install, I just wanted to make a quick note that this kit is not going to work on these shortest wheelbase truck, that's going to be the regular cab with these six and a half foot bed, so just a note, if you have that truck, this is not going to work for you. Install isn't going to be too bad. With that being said though, I'm gonna give it a two out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. It should only take you about two hours to get it installed with some basic hand tools. So let me show you how to get this on your truck. For this install, you will need an impact, extension, U joint, ratchet, 15-millimeter wrench, 13-millimeter wrench, 8 millimeter Allen key, Short end deep 15 and 13-millimeter sockets, a Sharpie, safety glasses, heat measure, and spray lubricant like PB Blaster. So first things first, we got to get our factory cat back out of here, and we're gonna start by greasing up the three hangers down the length of the cat back. Then there's two 13-millimeter bolts on this flange here we're going to loosen up. That's going to allow us to slide the whole thing out in one piece. If you are working on the ground, it might help to loosen up this clamp here, allow you to pull it out into pieces or make some cuts with the soles off. But again, since we're on a lift, we're gonna drop the whole thing in one big piece. So with our factory exhaust off the truck, I just wanted to take a second to layout our new MBRP exhaust and kind of compare the two. And right off the bat, you can see some of the big upgrades are we're ditching this big factory muffler in exchange for MBRP Stryker unit. We're also stepping up the diameter of the 3 inches on the inlet pipe. Now both of these kits may still be made out of aluminized steel, but after the muffler, as you can see we got a dual 3-inch diameter exhaust that's black powder coated, that's going to add to the durability a little bit and it ends in some awesome 4-inch powder coated black slash cut tips in embossed with the MBRP logo. So let me show you how to get this new MBRP kit installed on your truck. And first we're going to grab the resonator and some of the 15-millimeter hardware included in the kit. And that resonator is just going to get reinstalled to our factory connect. And again, you can secure that with the 15-millimeter hardware included in the kit. And next, we can snug down that 15-millimeter hardware. Now it's a good rule of thumb with all exhaust to just leave those hand tight for now. That's going to give us some much needed wiggle room where we get to the end of the exhaust and need to adjust our tips, so don't snug these down all the way, just hand tight for now. So next up after that resonator is going to be our extension pipe. Now, this is a cut to size piece. You hang that up there like that. That is going to be your extended cab with the 8-foot bed, you're just going to use the whole length of this pipe and you don't need it all for the regular cab with a six and half foot bed, but everything else in between will require a cut somewhere along this. But MBRP gives you a helpful guide in the instruction, letting you know what length to cut this to. So cut this size and we can hang this up and move right along. With our extension pipe cut to size, we can now secure it to the back of our resonator with one of the band clamps included in the kit, and that gets tightened down with a 15-millimeter socket. It's going to be the same exact process for our muffler, and this is going to have a bit of an angle to it, so again, I'm gonna hand tighten it to allow me to dial that in once we get our tailpipes on. And next is going to be our driver's side tailpipe. That's going to be this one with the two wire hangers on it that sits in the back of the muffler and into this factory hanger isolator here. That brings us to the second hanger on that tailpipe, and for that one, we are going to have to mount a new bracket, that's going to sit right about there and get it secured with some J clips in those two holes right there. Now these two, again our 13-millimeter sockets, but the top one is in a tough spot to get to and so is the bottom one. Either use a ratchet with an extension and the bottom one just the wrench because it's of behind that hanger. And with that in place, you can grease up your isolator and put it in place on the hangers. Next is going to be the other tailpipe, but first, another band clamp. Before we move on to the tips, there's a little bit of an alignment pin right here and that's gonna go in the same way the hanger did. We're going to mount another clip and run a 13-millimeter bolt and washer through. And lastly, we can mount our exhaust tips and tighten them down using an 8-millimeter Allen key. And with the tips tightened down, now is the perfect time to adjust to this kit so they sit level, and then you can run through and tighten down all of your clamps. And with everything tightened down, you can now lower the truck and check release, and that is going to do it for my review and install the MBRP Black Series 3 inch Dual Exhaust System with a Middle Side Exit.
