      Review & Installation Video

The Mammoth three-inch leveling kit is one of the most inexpensive ways for '04 to '13 two-wheel-drive owners and '04 to '08 four-wheel-drive owners out there who want to fit a set of 33s, or even a set of 35s under their truck without committing to a full-blown suspension lift kit which, let's face it, can get pretty pricey and involve a lot of work. Now, the Mammoth kit we have here, on the other hand, comes in just north of a hundred bucks and is going to be a strut-spacer design. So, therefore, we'll call it a strong two-out-of-three wrenches on the difficulty meter, definitely a little easier to install compared to other kits in the market, and we will cover that more in detail later in the video. So the Mammoth kit we are talking about here today is just one of only a handful of three-inch leveling kit options currently in the category and is also going to be one of the most affordable as well. Now the idea here with this kit, or any leveling kit for that matter, is to raise the front-end only without touching the rear, giving the truck a more leveled-look in the process, but at the same time making room for some bigger tires, again, up to a 35-inch tire according to the gang over at Mammoth. And, to put that claim to the test, we did try on a few different sets of wheels and tires we have here at the shop. And, full disclosure, we even tried the factory wheels and tires, and as you might imagine, they fit fine but look a tad small, in my opinion. We also tried on a set of 33 by 12-and-a-halves along the way, and in my opinion, they both looked and fit absolutely perfectly. Finally, we did put that claim to the test from Mammoth with the set of 35s, and while it didn't rub heavily per se, it was certainly very close for comfort and would probably rub under some normal articulation which, at that point, would require some light trimming of plastic. So, what does that mean to you guys watching at home? Well, I'd say if you're staying on the road most of the time and you're planning on running a relatively similar-to-stock offset, basically plus 20 or higher, I would say you can get away with a 35 in the Mammoth kit with some minor trimming. However, a 33 at the end of the day is going to be the best bet in fitting this leveling kit perfectly with absolutely no rubbing and is my recommended way to go when checking out the Mammoth three-inch kit. So, now that you know what you can run here with the Mammoth kit, let's break down what this thing is all about from a build-and-design standpoint, and, as you guys can see, it's extremely simple, as is the case with most puck-style leveling kits. Now the whole idea of a kit like this is going to involve a spacer ranging from about one to three inches in height, which at that point gets installed to the top of your strut assembly, giving the front end of your truck a little bit more altitude in the process. Now, the Mammoth kit is going to utilize laser-cut steel made in the USA and then finally finished off in that hammertone powder coat to help reduce or prevent any corrosion over the years. The new spacers here also do include hardware in addition to the Grade 8 studs which have already been pressed into place for you. But again, the big thing to takeaway from this, guys, is that this is certainly going to be the easier and more affordable way to change the stance of your truck when compared to those other bigger full-blown suspension lift kits, which, let's face it, typically involve a lot more work, a lot more parts, and a lot more money. A leveling kit like this, on the other hand, again, maybe a hundred to 200 bucks, whereas those full-blown suspension lift kits can start around 1,000 bucks and only go up from there. Now, the strut spacer design, on the other hand, doesn't involve any cutting or permanent modification, so let's call it two-out-of-three wrenches on the difficulty meter and a couple of hours from start to finish. The basic idea of this install involves lifting and supporting the front end of the truck, removing the wheels and tires and then followed by the coilover assembly. With the coilover removed from the truck, you can install the Mammoth leveling kit, reinstall everything in reverse order, and your installation is complete. And, as always guys, don't forget, since you are messing with the front-end geometry of your suspension, never a bad idea to get your alignment checked after this install. But, in closing, if you're looking for one of the most inexpensive ways to get a 33 or even a 35 under your truck, then you'll want to check out the Mammoth three-inch leveling kit right here at
