Description
Heavy-Duty Replacement. The Kryptonite Products Bolt-In Front Upper Ball Joint is designed to replace worn or damaged upper ball joints in 6-lug 1500 Chevy and GMC trucks. It provides a reliable pivot point between the upper control arm and steering knuckle, ensuring proper suspension geometry and safe handling. This component is essential for maintaining steering precision and prolonging suspension life.
Construction and Appearance. This ball joint features a heavy-duty thick rubber boot offering superior protection against water, dirt, and debris to extend service life. The ball stud is the largest available on the market, engineered for maximum angle clearance and durability. It arrives pre-greased with premium Chevron Ultra EP2 grease, enhancing immediate performance and simplifying maintenance.
Installation. The ball joint installs easily with a bolt-in design, requiring no drilling, and is made for aftermarket upper control arms. Proper torque specifications should be followed exactly: 22 lb-ft for mounting hardware and 46 lb-ft for the main stud. Avoid using an impact gun to prevent damage.
Warranty. This product includes a no fine print lifetime warranty covering manufacturer defects, premature wear, or breakage for the original purchaser when bought from an authorized dealer and properly registered.
Application. Specifically designed to fit 1999-2006 Silverado 1500 and 2007-2018 Silverado 1500 trucks equipped with OEM forged steel upper control arms only. It is not compatible with control arms constructed of different materials.
