Description
High Performance Torque Converter. The Hays Twister Full Race Torque Converter; 11-1/2-Inch Bolt Pattern; 2800-3200 RPM Stall is engineered to deliver exceptional power transfer and increased acceleration. Designed for racing enthusiasts and high horsepower setups, it works efficiently with trans-brakes and power adders such as nitrous, superchargers, and turbochargers. This torque converter’s high stall speed range optimizes engine performance to match a wide array of modified configurations.
Construction and Appearance. Constructed using advanced spray welding technology, this torque converter features hand-built assembly and inspection for superior quality. It includes a custom anti-balloon plate to prevent failure under high stress. The finish is durable and built to withstand the extreme conditions associated with racing and boosted applications, complemented by heavy-duty Torrington bearings and ventilated stators for enhanced cooling.
Installation. Installation requires a moderate level of mechanical skill and uses existing mounting points, with no drilling necessary in most cases. It is recommended to use a minimum of Grade 8 bolts to ensure secure fitment during operation.
Application. This torque converter is designed specifically for use with the GM 4L80E transmission. It is suitable for vehicles equipped with this transmission and aftermarket performance modifications requiring elevated stall speeds within the 2800-3200 RPM range. Fitment depends on the exact transmission and drivetrain configuration and may not be compatible with all 2002-2003 Silverado 1500 models.
