This performance-grade ring gear and pinion set is made of premium triple alloy steel that’s designed to handle increased torque. As a result, you get a more powerful performance from your Ford F-150 on the street and off the road!

    Upgraded Aftermarket Gears. The G2 8.8 G2 8.8 in. IFS Front Ring Gear and Pinion Kit is forged using premium 8620 triple alloy steel composed of nickel, chromium, and molybdenum. It’s a tough steel alloy with a stronger core compared to metals used in OEM gears. G2 uses only the latest machines and state of the art technology on each gear to precisely match OEM specifications. This attention to detail is critical in maintaining precise fit and clearance necessary for optimal backlash. In addition, lapped mating surfaces on the gears prevent excessive friction that could cause noise and wear.

    Speedometer Recalculation Required. Changes in the gear ratio affect the accuracy of your speedometer. It is recommended you recalibrate the speedometer with a handheld tuner after changing gears.

    Mechanical Expertise Required. Repair and maintenance of differential assemblies including the ring gear and pinion require expert knowledge and skill. Unless you’re confident enough to install your new G2 Ring and Pinion Gears on your own, we suggest you call your professional mechanic to prevent mistakes and mishandling.

    Technical Note. Ford F-150 4WD models are required to have matching gear ratios on both rear and front axles. Engaging 4-wheel drive with mismatched gear ratios will cause severe damage on axles and drive shafts.
