Hey guys, so today we're checking out the Off-Road Rubber Antenna in 6.5 inches, fitting all 1997 and newer F-150s. So, small mods can really make a difference on your truck by giving you a better aesthetic, as well as giving you some extra function. And this option is going to do just that. So, this antenna is going to be incredibly shorter than your factory setup, giving you a very sporty and compact look, while also staying out of the way. If you take your truck out on the trail, you wanna keep it away from any branches or brush, or even if you're just taking your truck through the car wash, this is going to stay completely out of the way because of its compact design. Not only that, but it's going to have that rubber coating on the outside that's not only helping you out with that sporty look, but it's going to be weather resistant as well, and remain pretty flexible, so if you do, again, take your truck out, and this does come in contact with anything, it will be resilient and bounce right back, and handle a little bit of abuse from the sun or any other weathering conditions. With all that being said, this is going to be incredibly affordable at roughly $25. So, for a little bit of form and function out of a small mod like this, I definitely think that that price point is worth it. Now, in comparison to some other choices, this is going to be your longest antenna in the category, and some other options on the page just may have a little bit of a different setup. So, this one specifically is going to have that rubber coating that's going to add a lot of resilience and protection to the antenna underneath. Now, some other options may include a 50 cal bullet setup, they may include an antenna that is just going to be shorter and kind of resemble the factory, or they will come in a different finish or a different length. Now, I think if you're looking for a sporty setup out of an antenna while also getting one that is pretty resilient, and it's gonna hold its own while it's out on the trail, then this is gonna be a great choice to take a look into. Now, install is going to be a very easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. You're just gonna need one tool to get the job done. So speaking of that install, let's jump into that now.The tool that I used for my install was an open-ended 3/8 inch wrench. So, in order to take our factory antenna off, you're just gonna need a 3/8 inch wrench. You can put it down around the base of the antenna. If you don't have a 3/8 wrench, you can also use a 10-millimeter, but then we can just twist that off the base of the antenna. So, before we install our new antenna, I do want to stop down and give a quick comparison on our factory one and our new one, show you guys what benefits that you're gonna receive out of this new antenna setup. So, it is pretty simple. This is gonna have a couple of different benefits to it in comparison to our factory setup. And as you can see, there is a major size difference going on here. Our factory antenna is gonna be about 32 inches long, as to where our new setup is gonna be about 6.5. So it is going to be very compact, stay out of the way, especially if you're out on the trail or you're taking your truck through the car wash. Now, our factory antenna is gonna be made out of a metal material, as to where this is going to have a rubber coating. Now, it is going to be resistant to weather and UV rays, so it is going to hold up for a very long time, but I would like to mention that this is going to have some flexibility to it. However, it's not going to be too flexible, like some other options. But, with it being so compact and out of the way, you really shouldn't have any issues with it.So, this kit is gonna come with a couple of different fittings as well. This one is specifically for the 2011 F-150 behind me, but there are a couple of other options that I'll get into in just a second. But as you can tell, these are going to be incredibly different. So, let's go ahead and install our new antenna. So first, in order to install our antenna, we have to install our fitting. Now, again, like I said, you're gonna have a couple of different fittings, depending on your specific year. I'm gonna use the one for 2009 Fords and newer, so this is gonna be the one with two rungs on it right there. Now, I'm gonna take the smaller end, or the smaller thread, and thread that into our antenna at the base till it stops, then we can go up to our base on our truck here. Thread it in. Make sure that is seated down. And then once it is, then you're all set to go.So that's gonna wrap it up for my quick review and install. Make sure you like and subscribe.
