      Video Review & Installation

Hey, guys. So, today, we're checking out the 50 Cal Bullet Antenna in black, fitting all 1997 and newer F-150s. So, antennas are very small but noticeable mods, and this option is going to do a really good job at creating a sporty and aggressive look to the side of your F-150, while also giving you a little bit of function in the meantime. Now, this is going to come in at 5.5 inches, making this very compact, keeping it out of the way of any brush or branches while you're out on the trail, or just staying out of the way while you take your truck through the car wash.I would like to mention that this is going to be a solid design, so this is going to be made of a billet aluminum material, so the antenna itself is going to be very durable. However, unlike some other options is not going to have any flexibility to that, so I would keep that in mind if you are doing a lot of off-roading or heavy-duty work with your truck, and you want something a little bit more flexible, this might not be for you. However, if you are not concerned about that, and you're looking for something that's going to give you an aggressive aesthetic to the side of your truck, then this is going to be a great choice. Not to mention, on top of that aluminum material is going to be a black anodized finish, which will match with any other black accessories that you already have on your F-150, giving you a very sleek look. And I also would like to mention that because this is a shorty antenna, if you don't live close to a city, you might not get the best reception, but again, if you're more concerned about looks and the aesthetic, as well as the compact design, then this is going to be a great choice. Now, with all that being said, this is going to come in at roughly $30, which, in my personal opinion, for a modification for your truck, is very affordable, especially with the aggressiveness that you're getting out of such a small mod like this. Now, in comparison to some other choices on the page, a lot of them are going to have a more simplistic setup, usually have a rubberized coating instead of a bullet design like this one does. Now, this is definitely gonna take the cake as far as uniqueness goes for an antenna, and I personally like that, so if you are looking for more of a custom look out of your truck with a small mod like this, then this is gonna be a great setup. As far as the install goes, this is going to get a very easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. You're gonna need one tool to get the job done. So, speaking of that, let's jump into the install now. The tool that I used for this install was an open-ended 3/8-inch wrench. So, to take your factory antenna off, you're gonna need a 3/8-inch wrench. We can put the open-ended part at the bottom of the base of the antenna, loosen it up, and then you should be able to screw it right out by hand. Then we can put this to the side. So, before we go into the install of our new antenna, I wanted to give you guys a quick comparison next to our factory one, and tell you guys a little bit more about the benefits that you're gonna receive out of this new setup. So, overall, this is going to be completely different, especially in size. So, when we're taking a look at the factory antenna, this is going to be roughly 32 inches long, as to where our new 50 Cal Bullet Antenna will come in at about 5.5 Inches. Now, that's gonna give you a lot of clearance as far as the antenna is concerned. However, it may decrease your reception if you don't live close to a city, so I would just keep that in mind. However, again, it's going to stay out of the way, and it's also going to give you a very sporty look, especially with the bullet design. Now, this is also going to be a pretty solid design. It is made of a CNC'ed billet aluminum, so the antenna itself is going to be very durable, and it's got a nice black anodized finish on top that's going to give you a very stealthy and aggressive look to the side of your F-150. So, I would like to mention, because this is a solid build in comparison to some other options that are flexible, like our factory one here, this may damage the bottom of the antenna base if you do take a hard enough hit. So if you're really concerned about the aesthetic and you're looking for something that's gonna give you a stealthy look, then this is definitely a good option. Not to mention you're getting a couple of different fittings to make sure that this is going to fit on your generation F-150. So, enough about these two side by side, let's go ahead and install our new antenna. So, out of the couple fittings, what I'm going to do is use the fitting with two rungs. This is going to be for 2009 and newer F-150s or 2009 and newer Fords. I'm just gonna thread the smaller thread into the base of our antenna here. I'm going to take the smaller end, or the smaller thread, thread that into the antenna, then we can head over to our truck and thread the other side into our antenna base. All right. Make sure that that is snug. And after it's tightened down, then you're all set to go.So, that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install. Make sure you like and subscribe. And for all things F-150, always keep it right here at
