      The Right Ratio. Lower gear ratios provide better mileage while higher ratios are better for towing or performance applications. The EXCEL from Richmond 4.56 Rear Ring and Pinion Gear Kit falls into that latter category. This Gear Set will give you good torque for towing and hauling These Gears can also be used to offset the increased rolling diameter of an installation of larger wheels and tires on your Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

      Durable & Tough. The ring and pinion gear sets in vehicles endure a harsh environment and as such they need to be as strong as they can be so that they will not fail you. These gears are made from first run 8620 steel for strength and then they are heat tempered for additional hardness. All of the machining is computer controlled to ensure an excellent fit and then the gears are lapped as a pair so that they will run smoothly and quietly.

      Professional Installation Recommended. The installation of Ring and Pinon Gears can be a very intricate process, so mechanical experience is highly recommended. Follow the included instructions for best results.
