It’s evident by its forged 8620-grade steel body, heat-treated for added strength. It’s machined to match OEM specification for the optimal fit. It allows for the prescribed clearances, tolerance, and backlash required in a performance-level ring and pinion gear kit.
Computer Reprogramming Recommended. Please remember that changing gear ratios will require a retuning of your onboard computer. This is done to update the speedometer to give accurate speed readings.
Professional Installation. Installing the EXCEL from Richmond 8.25 in. IFS Front Ring Gear and Pinion Kit would require the use of special tools and equipment. This is the reason why it’s recommended that you leave the installation to your trusted mechanic instead of doing the install on your own.
Comes with a 2-Year Warranty. The EXCEL from Richmond Ring Gear and Pinion Kit comes with a 2-year or 100,000-mile warranty. The coverage only extends to defects in materials and workmanship but excludes incidental damages.
Technical Note. Chevy Silverado 4WD models require matching gear ratios on the front and rear axles. Using the 4-wheel drive application on mismatched axles would result in broken components such as driveshaft, axle shaft, and transmission.
