How to Install E & G Q Upper Overlay Grilles - Polished (09-12 STX, XL, XLT; 2009 FX4) on your Ford F-150

1. Apply protective masking tape to the top and bottom of the horizontal grille openings and completely around the left and right verticle grille openings.

2. Align the horizontal grille sections into their respective openings and place a piece of masking tape even with the top edge of the grille inserts (as shown), then remove the grille sections.

3. Cut small sections from the supplied strip of 1/8” x 3/8” foam tape and install the sections 1/8” below the edge of the alignment tape applied in the previous step.

4. Remove the tape liner once the tape is pressed firmly into place.

5. Trim the closed ends from the preinstalled black cap plugs located on each mounting stud and push them down over the studs, making sure that a 1/4” of threads are exposed.

6. Remove the protective covering from the grille sections and use a mild solvent and a soft, clean cloth to remove any glue residue remaining on the grille sections. Clean any solvent residue with glass cleaner and a soft, clean cloth (not shown).

7. Align the “Q” grille sections into place, and install the supplied black plastic washers and #8-32 ESNA half nuts to secure the E&G grille sections. Do not overtighten the ESNA nuts or you will indent the grille sections. Tighten only until you can not rotate the washers.

8. Remove all protective masking tape applied to the factory grille to finish.
