How to Install E & G Q Upper Overlay Grilles - Polished (04-08 FX4, STX, King Ranch) on your Ford F-150

1. Open the hood and remove the 10mm hex nuts across the top of the grille shell and the 10mm hex bolts on the side bracking and remove the grille from the hood (not shown).

2. Remove the protective tape from the stainless steel grille inserts and remove any tape residue using a mild solvent followed by glass cleaner or alcohol.

3. Apply masking tape to the face fo the grille and the Ford oval to protect the finish (not shown).

4. Align the E&G grille inserts into the grille openings and use masking tape to hold them in place while installing the mounting hardware (Step 5).

5. Install the supplied black plastic washer and 8- 32 ESNA half nuts to secure the E&G grille sec tions. Do not overtighten the ESNA nuts or you will indent the grille sections. Tighten only until you can not rotate the washers.

6. Remove the three (3) lower 8mm hex head bolts that secure the lower air dam to the bottom of the metal bumper that line up where the lower grille mounting brackets line up (start with the center bolt and skip the next bolt to the left and right then remove the following left and right bolts). This photo was taken from inside the front bumper.

7. Carefully pass the lower “Q” grille through the existing opening in the metal bumper, making sure that the lower mounting brackets line up with the mounting holes in the metal bumper.

8. Reinstall the factory 8mm hex bolts to secure the lower grille into place. Make sure that the lower section is tight against the lower bumper opening as you tighten the bolts.

9. Reinstall the assembled upper grille back onto the hood to finish.
