Justin: If you're looking for just a little bit more wheel and tire clearance or maybe a slight change to your stance on your '97 and newer F-150, then adding the 1/2-inch Coyote spacers here would be one of the easiest and one of the most affordable ways to do so. Now, these options are gonna be sold in sets of 4 for right around 20 to 30 bucks while the install itself at least according to the site will get a soft one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter here and take you an hour at absolute most from start to finish. So adding a set of spacers is one of the easiest ways to either gain clearance or make for a more aggressive stance. Now if the sole reason you plan on buying a set of spacers is to help achieve a more aggressive stance then I am gonna tell you there are certainly bigger options out there on the site that will deliver that more aggressive stance such as a 1-inch or even a 1-1/2-inch option from Coyote, which again you can find here on the site. But getting back to these particular options again, pretty tame overall, 1/2-inch or 12 millimeters of spacing which will help you clear a larger set of brakes or add a little bit more offset to your stock or aftermarket wheels for more of that flush appearance. Now because these guys are pretty mild overall, they do not require a bolt-on design which does help keep that cost down dramatically compared to your larger 1 or 1-1/2-inch options also from Coyote. Now I have seen questions about, "Can I run these things without extended studs?" And honestly, the answer is yes, a lot of our customers have done so without issue. Now adding a longer stud is never a bad idea when you're adding a spacer like this, but it is not necessary to run these spacers from Coyote while still be able to get a safe number of thread turns with your lug nuts. Now the spacers themselves do feature that dual five and six-lug pattern which will allow for that broad year range in fitment and have been made out of shot peen aluminum for added strength. Also, guys, another question we get is, "Do we have to get my truck aligned after I install these?" And the answer is no, you're not really altering the suspension that dramatically or the stance whereas you would need an additional alignment. But now, we want to show you just what it takes to get a set of these spacers installed on your F-150 at home. And again, this is a set, guys, you are grabbing four. Yes, I know I only have 1 on the table here but just keep in mind you are getting a set of 4 for around 20 to 30 bucks for your truck. But nevertheless, here is that detailed walkthrough we promised you a little earlier along with a quick tool breakdown.Male: Tools used for this install are a 1/2-inch impact gun or breaker bar, we used a 22-millimeter socket for our aftermarket wheel lock key, but if you have a stock lug nut, you'll use a 21-millimeter socket, and you'll need a torque wrench that goes up to at least 150 foot-pounds. So the first step of this install is gonna be to support the vehicle from underneath and get the wheel off the ground so that you can safely remove it and install the new wheel spacer, so let's get started. So I'm just gonna place my floor jack underneath the lower control arm and lift the one wheel off the ground. Now I can remove the wheel. So because our truck actually has some aftermarket wheels and lug nuts on them, I'm gonna be using a 22-millimeter socket on a 1/2-inch impact gun to remove the lug nuts, but if your truck has factory Ford lug nuts, they're gonna be a 21-millimeter, same process. Now that we got the wheel off and the studs exposed, we can take our new wheel spacer, line up the holes, and slide it into place just like that, then reinstall our wheel. So now that you got your new wheel spacer installed, you can go ahead and throw your wheel back on and torque the lug nuts to spec, in this case that will be 150 foot-pounds.That's gonna wrap up this review and install for the Coyote 1/2-inch 5 and 6-Lug Wheel and Brake Spacer fitting all '97 and newer F-150s Thanks for watching, and for all things F-150 keep it right here at americantrucks.com.
