Description
Camera Integration Kit. The 3rd Brake Light Camera Kit for IO4, IO5, or IO6 Factory Displays adds an auxiliary rearview camera mounted within the upper third brake light of your truck. This enhances visibility specifically for cargo bed monitoring and fifth wheel hitching by providing an additional downward-facing camera angle. The system integrates seamlessly with your existing factory radio display, allowing you to toggle between the factory-installed tailgate camera and the new third brake light camera while in reverse.
Construction and Appearance. The kit features a trim bezel housing a high-definition CMOS camera with an adjustable swivel head for aiming flexibility. It is built into a robust IP67-rated waterproof and dustproof enclosure designed to fit precisely behind the factory third brake light assembly. The finish matches factory aesthetics to maintain a clean and professional look on the truck’s cab.
Installation. Installation requires removal of the existing third brake light to mount the new housing, followed by connecting the included plug-and-play harness to the factory camera connector behind the radio. No drilling is necessary, but access to the radio is required for harness installation.
Warranty. The product includes a 3-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
Application. This camera kit fits Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 models from 2014 through 2018, plus 2019 Silverado and Sierra HD models equipped with IO4, IO5, or IO6 factory radio systems and factory-installed tailgate cameras. It is incompatible with models featuring the 7-inch IOB screen.
