The Borla Touring Dual Exhaust System with Black Chrome Tips and a rear exit, fitting all '15 to '18 3.5 Eco boost F-150s, excluding Raptors, is simply put one of the best exhausts out there for the Eco. It is the choice for the EcoBoost owner that's looking to upgrade their exhaust, get a little bit more sound without waking his neighbors. In Borla's range, you start with a Touring, which is this one, then you move up to the S-type or Stingers and then the daddy of them all is gonna be the ATAK. Now, even though this is technically the lowest volume in the category, I really like the tone that this one provides. It gives you a nice deep, throaty sound, which isn't gonna have any drone and it's gonna be nice and comfortable in the cabin as well. I'd give it a two out of five on our wake the neighbor scale. Build quality on this kit is going to be bar none as we'd expect, not just because of the price tag but also because Borla has been one of the leaders in the premium exhaust world for quite some time now, and have earned their reputation as one of the best in the business. Borla manufactures this kit out of a full 304 stainless throughout. It starts off as a 3-inch diameter pipe, which splits off into a dual 2-1/4 inch piping, ending in some awesome 4-inch black chrome slash-cut tips. Now that 304 stainless is going to stand up to the test of time and you can be sure that this kit is going to make noise for years to come. And also the mandrel bends help smooth out some exhaust flow, which is what creates power. The Touring also comes in a few combinations as well. There's also the chrome tips or you could go with the choice of a dual side exit too. Price is gonna come in and around the $1150 mark. But for the build quality here, there's really no arguing, it's one of the best kits you can buy. And I really think your money goes a long way with a Borla system like this one. Install is going to be a breeze. Because this is one of the most well-manufactured kits out there, you're not gonna be bending any pipes or using a hammer to get any pipes together. Also, for the dual exhaust, we're gonna be using a factory mounting location so you're not gonna have to drill into the truck or anything like that. I'm gonna give it a two out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter, should take you around two hours with basic hand tools. Before we move on to the install, I just wanted to make a note. If you have one of the longer wheelbase trucks like the SuperCrew with the 6-1/2 foot bed or the SuperCab with the 8-foot bed, we do offer that as well in our buy together section. With that, let me show you how to get this installed on your truck. For this install, you will need a half-inch drive impact, 3/8 drive impact, 3/8 drive U-joint, half-inch drive ratchet, 21-millimeter socket, 24-millimeter socket, 15-millimeter socket, 13-millimeter socket, 10-millimeter socket, a pry bar, an adjustable wrench, an exhaust hanger removal tool, and optional, some WD-40. So, first things first, in our install, we gotta get this old factory cat-back out of here. There's two 13-millimeter bolts up here and four hangers throughout. I'm gonna grease them up, then we hit those bolts and it should drop right out. And there's two more 13-millimeter bolts on this flange here. As soon as you get those out, the exhaust should drop right out. Now, if the exhaust doesn't slide in the hangers or you're working on the ground, it can be easier to remove these two hangers altogether. That's what we're gonna do. There's four 10-millimeter nuts. Now, with our two exhausts on the ground, you can really see how much of an upgrade this Borla Touring system is going to be. As you see, we ditched that old school factory muffler and resonator, in exchange for a Borla resonator, and this awesome Borla Touring muffler, connected by a 3-inch 304 stainless pipe before the muffler. After the muffler, we split off into two 2-1/4 inch pipes, which exit in some awesome 4-inch black chrome slash-cut tips. Now before I show you how to get this Borla Touring system hung on your truck, I'm just gonna grab one of these hanger mounts from our old exhaust because we will be reusing just one of those for our install. While we have our hanger in hand, I'm just gonna reinstall that. It's gonna go on this back position here. It should open in a 90-degree angle facing the front of the truck. And I'm just gonna use a 10-millimeter socket to tighten those bolts down. Next, we're gonna grab our inlet pipe with the resonator on it and install it using the two factory 13-millimeter bolts on this flange here. And we're just gonna tighten these bolts down using a 13-millimeter socket. Next, we're gonna grab this extension pipe with a 90-degree hanger and 3-inch clamp. Now, this pipe is a little bit of an S shape, that's gonna open toward the outside of the vehicle. And he's just gonna go right on the inlet pipe. You can line up your hanger. That pipe should slide in place. Next, we're gonna use a 15-millimeter socket to tighten this clamp. We're gonna make sure he's tucked out of the way like that. Now, with this clamp and all the clamps on the exhaust, we're just gonna tighten this loosely for now so we can make adjustments to the exhaust. Then once we have it seated, we can run through the kit and tighten down all of our clamps, and lock it in place. Next, is our over axle pipe and muffler, and another 3-inch clamp. And, again, a 15-millimeter bolt on this clamp. With our over axle pipe and muffler in place, we can start thinking about our tailpipe. Now Borla does include in the kit some new hangers, however, they are mounted in a different way. What we're gonna do is we're gonna loosen this leaf spring bolt right here, we're gonna slip our hanger underneath, and then retighten to the factory specs.I'm gonna use a 24-millimeter socket and an adjustable to do that, and then we're gonna mirror it for our other side. And you don't have to take that bolt all the way out, just create a little gap right here. If it backs out the other way, you might have to take a pry bar and push it. That's what we had to do. And then mounting your new hanger is as simple as that. And then we're gonna retighten this to the factory specifications. And it's just gonna be the same thing for the other side. With this new mount in place, you can slide your rubber hanger over it. I found it helpful to use some WD-40 to get that around there. Next, I'm just gonna grease this bottom hole, then we can mount our tailpipe up, and do the same thing for the other side. And I'm just gonna use a 2-1/4 clamp here. And the driver side tailpipe is actually divided into two pieces. I'm gonna grab this piece first and mount it using another 2-1/4 inch clamp. Now before we run through and tighten all of our clamps, there is one last step. We're gonna take this ceramic heat-resistant wrap that's included in the kit from Borla and wrap this breather hose right here, to keep it a little bit colder because it does sit close to this new exhaust pipe. With the exhaust sitting right where we want it, we're just gonna run through and tighten down all those clamps one more time. All right, guys, that is gonna do it for my review and install of the Borla Dual Exhaust System with Black Chrome Tips and a rear exit, fitting all '15 to '18 3.5 EcoBoost F-150s, excluding Raptor. Thank you for watching. My name is Joe and for all things F-150, keep it right here at americantrucks.com.
