The BD Power Towmaster Allison 1000 Transmission, including the $1800 core charge, is engineered to handle increased engine output and improve drivetrain longevity. It is designed for heavy-duty use where strength and reliability are paramount, making it ideal for demanding towing and hauling applications.

      Construction and Appearance. Featuring a heavy-duty aluminum deep transmission pan that increases oil capacity by 3.5 quarts, the transmission uses high-energy friction materials and revised oil circuits for improved performance. The robust finish and construction withstand severe conditions, with upgrades including increased clutch counts and reinforced valve components.

      Installation. Installation generally takes approximately 9 hours. It requires mechanical expertise but does not involve drilling or modifications to the vehicle chassis. A BD torque converter must be installed at the same time to maintain warranty validity, as the use of a third-party or OE converter will void the warranty.

      Warranty. The transmission comes with a 36-month/150,000-mile parts warranty and a 12-month/24,000-mile labor warranty, excluding coverage for race abuse.
