So, if you own a '14 to '18 Silverado and you were looking for one of the most affordable 4-inch wide side steps, you should be checking out Barricade's T4 Polished stainless side step bars that we just threw on our Silverado. This is actually going to be one of the most affordable options in the entire category. The only less expensive options available in the category will be smaller width, around three inches, or you'll see we have individual drop steps located under each door. Now besides the price on these, there's a couple other reasons why I really like these steps. As far as finish goes, yes, they are polished stainless finish, but they're also actually made out of stainless steel, they are not a simple carbon steel. That's awesome because if your truck is a daily driver or you take it off-road, these will not rust or corrode. Other reason why I really like these steps is because of the grip pads on top. Those are going to be very helpful if you ever drive through rain or snow, it's going to help you make sure you don't slip off of these things. And the last reason I really like these steps is they install very easily. They are a bolt-on application. No cutting or drilling is required so you can get these installed in about 30 minutes to an hour with basic tools in the driveway. So, if you like the way the T4s look, go ahead and stick around, I'm actually going to show you the install step by step, no pun intended. So without further ado, let's go ahead and get started. To install your new side steps, you'll need the following tools, a drive ratchet, a 13-millimeter deep socket, and a flathead screwdriver or a pry tool. Optional but helpful tools include a swivel and a cordless impact. So, we threw our truck up on the lift to make it easier to show you where all this hardware goes. Rest assured, you can do this in the driveway. Now, first things first, there are some rubber grommets up here inside the rocket panel. You're gonna pull those rubber grommets out to make room for these nut clips. Once those rubber grommets are pulled out, you're going to put a nut clip in the rocker panel and the pinch seam. These are going to serve as the mounting locations for the brackets for the side steps. All right. Now that all those nut clips are in place in the rocker panel and the pinch seam, we can now install the brackets for the side steps. To secure these to the nut clips, you are going to need the provided hex bolts as well as the flat washers and crush washers in the kit. To tighten these down, you're going to need a 13-millimeter socket. All right. With all our brackets tightened down, we can now install the side step itself. To do this, you're gonna need to grab the black hex bolts in the kit and set them up with a crush washer and a flat washer on each bolt. You're also going to need a 13-millimeter socket to tighten these down. All right. Now that we have all the hardware for the side step itself tightened down, you're gonna do the same thing for the other side and your install will actually be complete. Now if you wanted to, you could throw on the included plastic covers for the metal brackets themselves. This is entirely optional. These are purely aesthetic. They're not functional in any way. And I'm a personal fan of minimalism. I think that the exposed metal hardware actually looks pretty good so we're going to go ahead and leave these off. So, as you can see, even though we did this install on the lift, you can easily get this done in the driveway at home with basic hand tools. Again, no cutting or drilling required, something I really like about these steps. Other than that, that actually wraps up my review of Barricade's T4 Polished stainless side step bars fitting your '14 to '18 Silverado. I'm Travis. Thanks for watching. wife and kids are happy!
looks good and easy to install! American Trucks sells this Step Bar at a great price. Will give your truck a good look and make it have a nice stance. I have 3 young daughters where I was worried about them climbing out of the truck alone and falling out. With the step bar its easier for them to climb in and get out with out falling or getting hurt or holding on to my door handles and breaking them off!Helpful (17)
I have a 2018 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab with the molded Chevy mudflaps in front. Will I have any trouble with the fit of these step bars with the mudflaps on?
The Barricade T4 Rocker Mount Side Step Bars will be compatible with mud flaps.
Doi they fit 2014 gmc sierra
Hi , is drilling required?
Barricade Side Bars are engineered to be a direct bolt-on upgrade using just basic hand tools, so there is no drilling or cutting required for a clean straight forward installation.
i dont like how far they stick out from the truck. Do the mounts allow me to pull them closer to the rockers?
Where can I find replacement hardware for these steps? I really just need the plastic covers on the mounting hardware.
Unfortunately, we do not carry the hardware outside of an order for these steps at this time.
These would be roughly 90" long for the crew cab models and roughly 81" for the double cab models.
These are approximately 3.5" wide.
The Barricade T4 Side Step Bars are rated for 300 Lbs.
