Hey guys, it's Joe from AmericanTrucks and today, we're gonna be taking a closer look at one of the most classic F-150 front bumpers out there, the Proven Ground Raptor Style Front Bumper fitting all '18 and newer F-150s excluding the Raptor models. Now, this is gonna be a great option for frankly any F-150 owner out there looking to add a little bit of Raptor styling to the front end of their truck. So, what do we have going on here with the Proven Ground Raptor Style Front Bumper? Well, first off, this thing is made out of solid steel and behind this bumper cover area, we do have some 5/32-inch reinforcement to make sure this is gonna be as tough as the factory Raptor front bumper from Ford. Now, with that in mind, this is designed obviously very, very similarly if not identically to that factory Raptor bumper and you get some benefits with that. Now the main one is going to be approach angle. At the ends here you could see this sort of tapers up, that's gonna help improve your approach angle and just make your off-roading experience a little bit better. You're gonna be able to get that front tire on an obstacle you wanna go over and that is a huge deal when it comes to the off-roading world. On top of that the looks for this one are gonna be classic, right? We got these push flat sections right here, the honeycomb grille in the middle, the vents on the side. This is a great piece of Raptor styling for your truck, especially if you wanted to pair it with the classic Ford Raptor grille. It's finished in that powder coat charcoal gray which looks amazing. I don't think the lead foot gray on this truck does it justice. In fact, I think with the blue matte gray on here it kind of clashes a little bit. Check out our customer photos, there are some great ones on there that I think really let this bumper shine in its full capacity. So, a couple of other features about this bumper, you get to keep your tow hooks, that is a huge one for me, they serve as a great recovery point and a tool for the front end of your F-150 that you wouldn't wanna lose. So, good work there Proven Grounds. Also, they thought about the front plate, if your state does require that, these two slides right here that are filled in, you can easily drill into those and mount up that plate to make sure your truck passes inspection. Now, one thing I do think is worth mentioning, you will lose your fog lights with this one. But considering the whole package and what this provides for the front end of your truck, I think that's a small price to pay in order to get these Raptor looks. Now, speaking about price, this one is gonna drop in right around the $900 mark and that is going to be pretty expensive for a front bumper on an F-150. But again, as a whole package here, this thing looks great, and can really, really up the presence of your F-150 and I do think it's money well spent. So, with all that out of the way, let's move on to the good stuff here, the install. This one is gonna be really, really easy, no modifications required. However, it is a little bit heavy. I'm gonna give it an easier two out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. At most if you come with the right tools, I think this will take you about two hours to get fully hooked up and aligned exactly how we have it right here. So, without any further ado, let me show you what tools you'll need and how it's done. Tools required for this install are going to include an impact or a ratchet, small extension, 18 and 21-millimeter sockets, as well as the trim panel removal tool. So, for this install, we're gonna have to loosen up and take off our front bumper here. And for that, we're gonna need a 21-millimeter socket and a small extension. We're gonna loosen up some nuts underneath our front bumper and unplug our fog lights to start off. And the nut we're looking for is just gonna be toward the outside edge of the frame rail. And again, this guy is a 21-millimeter. Now, we're just gonna come to the left a little bit here and we're just gonna grab our fog light and twist it out. Now, we're just gonna reach up to our fog light, and we're gonna pull the two tabs on the back of the harness to release it and then we can pull that wiring harness away. Now, we can come over to the other side, do the same thing. We're gonna remove that nut and then unplug our fog. So, now we can attack the hardware from the front here and it is hidden behind these plastic pads that are held in with some metal clips. So, I'm just going to pry on them with the trim panel removal tool. You can also use a flathead screwdriver here, just be careful of the paint on your truck, maybe wrap in some electrical tape, something like that. But with that said, I'm just gonna take the trim tool, get underneath, give that a good pry, it should pop right off. Now, I'm gonna come over here, do the same thing for the other side. This corner right here is a good place to pry as well, it's kind of got a notch cut out of it that's perfect to get underneath of. Now we're gonna remove those four nuts, two on each side, and again 21-millimeter socket here. And as you're doing this last one here, it's the last thing holding on your bumper so, put a knee on it, and then you can remove that as well and pull the bumper away. So, now that we have our factory bumper off our F-150, I figured now will be the perfect time to stop down, put it next to our new Raptor style bumper and point out some of the key differences and improvements our new bumper is going to be making for our F-150. Now, the first and most obvious is gonna come in the looks department, right? We're ditching that body color with the plastic on there for some serious Raptor styling. This thing is going to bring a lot of presence to the front end of your truck. It's also built a little bit more durable. We have 5/32 steel plate reinforcement behind this Raptor bumper, so it's gonna be able to take a hit as well. It's designed with off-roading in mind. Like the Raptor bumpers are from Ford, it tapers up to the end. So, that's gonna help your approach angle and just overall improve the off-roading experience. Now, a couple of features we are gonna keep from our factory F-150 front bumper, the ability to mount a front plate. You can see these two holes in the honeycomb grille right here, these can be drilled out and mount a front plate up and you get to keep your tow hooks. One thing you will not be able to keep though, fog lights, just like the factory Raptor, this is gonna delete your fog lights. Now, it's pretty clear the differences between these two so what do you say? Let's get this thing installed onto our truck here. We already have some captive hardware pre-installed. So, these studs are just going to go right on the end of our frame rail and then we're going to install the hardware included in the kit to the back. So, now that we have the bumpers started in the ends of our frame rail here, we could just come in with the hardware included in the kit, flat washer, lock washer, 18-millimeter nut. And we're gonna do that four times, two for each frame rail, one on the inside, one on the outside here and then we could tighten them down. So we got the two on the inside, we're just gonna wrap it up with the two on the outside. Now, guys, that is gonna do it for me, it's also gonna do it for the Proven Grounds Raptor Style Front Bumper Fitting all '18 and new F-115 excluding the Raptor models. Thank you guy for watching, subscribe for more videos like this one. And as always keep it right here at AmericanTrucks for all things F-150.

This is a great upgrade if you’re youre going for the Raptor look but even better for clearance with larger tires and lifts. I had it installed along with an ARB compressor on a weekend I was out of town so why not. You will see your crash bars but not too much. If you’re looking to add lights it’s best to build a mount off of the crash bars unless you’re willing to repaint it or better yet color match it. Once I get the mounting taken care of for the lights I’ll be trimming back the crash bar. Overall I love itHelpful (5)

Great bumper! Had it painted satin black, I've got a ton of compliments already! Install took about 1 hour and 30 minutes, use zip ties to secure your fog light wire harness to your frame, and I found it easier to remove the escutcheon around your front tow hooks to put the bumper on, I couldn't get it to fit otherwise. Besides that, everything is covered in the install video! Very easy.Helpful (5)

Will the adaptive cruise control work with this bumper
Can Aftermarket raptor fog lights be added to this bumper?
Is the bumper a 3 piece that needs assembly, prior to install??
No, this is a 1 piece design.
Does proven ground offer replacement Honeycomb grills for this bumper, where the Front license Plate goes? If so, where would I order it from them directly or through american trucks? I couldn’t find a website for the manufacture or anything.
Replacement components are not sold separately for this bumper.
Can have paint Oxford White same color of my truck with you guys and pay they different ?
I apologize, this would come in a Textured Charcoal Gray Powder Coated Finish.
No, this cannot be used with a bull bar.
