Hey, everybody, I'm Justin, with AmericanMuscle.com and this is my detailed review of the Barricade Brush Guard in gloss black, available for your 2009 to 2014 F-150, excluding all Raptors. Now, in this review, guys, I'm going to walk you through a few basic things you can expect with this Barricade Brush Guard. Basically, what you're looking at as far as construction, what it's going to offer as far as protection and functionality, and then finally, what it takes to get this beast installed onto your F-150.Now, as far as the install, I'm going to five this one a two out of three wrenches on my overall scale of difficulty and here's why: now, there's no cutting, there's no permanent modification or really, anything out of the ordinary, however, it is a little big, it's a little heavy, and it can be tough to muscle around by yourself, or even with a friend, so we'll have a little bit more detail coming up on that later on. Brush guards are one of those parts that are going to appeal to truck owners for a few different reasons. Maybe you want to protect the front end, or maybe you just want a tough appearance for the front end, or maybe you just want both. Now, a brush guard is ultimately going to offer a ton of protection for the front of your truck from the bumper and grill area to the headlight area here, of course, and even the hood to a small extent thanks to that top bar. Now, this is going to be one of the most affordable options here on the site, and you even are getting some additional mounting points for auxiliary lighting. As far as functionality, well, we already hit this one. Right, guys? This is going to be the most hardcore way to protect the front end of your truck from whatever might get in your way, whether it's obstacles or trees off the road on the trails, or maybe even a wayward shopping cart in a parking lot, or maybe some other obstacles you might encounter on the road. And ultimately, these are going to offer far more protection than some other options on the site, such as bull bars. This thing really does bulletproof the front end of your F-150, thanks largely to the one-and-a-half-inch steel tubing you're going to find throughout the majority of this product here, while you're also getting some very heavy gauge steel supports, both horizontal and vertical here. Now, this thing is going to take a lot of abuse and that's one of the nice things about running a brush guard. I really do enjoy the protection for the headlight area over here as well, thanks to the smaller gauge steel tubing. This stuff is removable here. You'll find some hardware built into the Barricade option. You can totally unbolt the smaller section here, just to mix up the look, give you a different option, whatever. I think this thing is pretty burly. It does offer a lot of protection but if this isn't enough for you, Barricade even offers a step further with their Xtreme Heavy Duty Brush Guard. It's going to take the protection up a notch, however, it will cost you a little bit more in the process. Something else I really do enjoy about the Barricade Brush Guard options is just how well they fit the front of the truck, and it's something I noticed when reviewing their 15 and up option as well. When installed, you're really going to notice how well this thing just hugs the front end. It doesn't stick out like a sore thumb and there's really not a ton of dead space between the actual Brush Guard and the front of the truck. Piggybacking on that great fit, Barricade also does a great option with following some of the body lines here on the '09 to '14 F-150s. More specifically, the headlight area here, which mimics the body lines on this particular truck very well and, in my opinion, just gives it a more custom-tailored or a more quality look. Now, in my experience, I've noticed other options for the same model truck don't really follow the lines as well, and therefore, they just look a little bit more out of place and maybe a little bit more generic. Taking that functionality a step further, you'll notice that Barricade includes two pre-drilled holes into the horizontal support here with their Brush Guard. They also include some rubber caps to cap them off, if you don't want to use them for that, and this is just begging for some auxiliary lighting, right? Whether it be a spotlight, foglight, you could even toss a lightbar up here, whatever the case, it's a great option and the best part is it saves you from drilling into your truck or bumper. Now, even though most people would probably argue that a brush guard like this is a functional item first, and I would tend to agree with that, there is a group of owners out there that enjoy a brush guard simply on looks or appearance alone, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Adding a brush guard like this will certainly toughen up the front end of the truck, add a more aggressive appearance, and I think the gloss black powder coat will certainly help in that regard. However, if you're not a big fan of the black, Barricade does offer the same exact option but in a polished finish that will add a little bit more flash or a little bit more bling that you can pick up here on the site for a few bucks more. On the topic of price, the Barricade option is very attractive and very affordable, landing you right around the $300 price point, which is by far and away your most affordable option currently, here on the site. Switching gears, let's talk about install, and as I mentioned at the very top of this video, the bright side is there's no cutting, there's no drilling, there's no permanent modification required whatsoever. However, this sucker is heavy, and therefore, I'm going to give it two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, solely based on the size and weight of this thing alone. So basically, if you have an extra set of hands, they're definitely going to make this install a lot easier for you. The Barricade option will mount to your F-150 utilizing the space previously occupied by your front tow hooks, so just prepared to lose those. And I do want to point out, guys, that one of the nice things about this particular product from Barricade is that you do have a little bit of wiggle room to slide the front brush guard out, just to give you a little bit more room to operate or open the hood. So, in a nutshell, guys, you're only really looking at a basic socket set to help you get this thing in place, along with an extra set of hands, which will certainly help you muscle this thing around as it can be a little heavy. Overall, again, a soft two out of three wrenches on my difficulty meter. There's nothing crazy here, it is just a little heavy, and maybe a couple of hours from start to finish. So if you like the idea of a Brush Guard from a functionality standpoint, or if you just like how it looks on your truck, you're definitely going to want to check out the black option here from Barricade. It's built very well, it fits great, and the price is right. So that's my review of the Barricade Black Brush Guard option, which you can find right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Nice, well made product. The box it was shipped in was in pieces, and taped together badly. need to do a better job on packaging. That's the only re reason not giving it 5stars. Other than that, I am happy with it.Helpful (0)

Thank you American Trucks, I love my new brush guard. It gives my truck the desired aggressive appearance that I was looking for. My only concern was the directions. The dialogue of the directions were well written, but the diagram pictures left a lot to be desired. Additionally, if there was a complete installation video of the brush guard, that would be extremely helpful as well. The customer service at American Trucks was great. The only issue I had was I was not provided tracking or shipping information due to a computer glitch with their system. Every time I reached out to their customer service department, they were friendly, cordial and helped as much as they could. American Trucks has a life customer now with me.Helpful (4)

Perfect fit, and Looks Great !! Took about two and half hours to install. No alterations needed to line up brackets and mounting hardware. Looks like an OEM product not an aftermarket item. If I could make one addition it would be to provide more protection for the center of the grill.Helpful (7)
Do you guys sell the mounting hardware separate for this guard...I was gifted the guard from a friend but it doesn't have the mounting hardware.
I purchased the barricade brush grille for a 2009 ford f150 and no mounting brackets came with would it be possible to purchase the mounting hardware. thank you

Is there any way a person can keep the stock tow hooks in place?
The Barricade Brush Guard will not allow the re-installation of the factory tow hooks once installed. The Barricade Brush Guard mounts in the exact same spot as the tow hooks originally were placed which will prevent them from being used again.
I was wondering i could purchase one if the uper mounting supports selerate from the brush gaurd its self.
I apologize, the mounting supports would not be available for separate purchase.
Is this polished stainless, or coated steel of some type? Are the bolts and attaching hardware stainless also?
This brush guard is fully polished and the accompanying hardware is also polished as well.
This brush guard will weigh 62 pounds.
It would require modification, but you could mount LED lights to the Barricade Brush Guard.
The Barricade Brush Guard will stick out far enough for the hood to open with no problems.
