Hey, guys. Joe from AmericanTrucks and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Barricade Extreme HD Front Bumper fitting all '18 and newer F-150s, excluding the Raptor models. Now this is gonna be perfect for any F-150 owner out there that's looking for an all-around bumper upgrade. More style, more utility, more durability and all at a cost-effective price. This is made out of heavy-duty steel plate which is going to be great for durability. We're gonna put the two side by side in a second but this is definitely gonna be way more tough than the factory plastic front bumper. So definitely a great option if you're doing any off-roading.Now this bumper is designed with off-roading in mind as well, as it tapers up at the edges allowing you a more aggressive approach angle which is gonna make it easier to get a front wheel on an obstacle you're trying to climb over. This is finished in a two-stage durable black textured powder coating which is not just there for looks. Albeit if you were going for the blackout look, this is going to be the perfect match. It also serves as a layer of protection from the elements. This bumper also adds some utility as well. You have spots on either side for some 3-inch cube lights and right in the middle there's a spot for a 20-inch light bar and all the hardware you need for those are included in the kit. Now this isn't going to include any lights but Barricade does offer this with either just the lights on the side or just the light in the middle or both at an extra price. This bumper also retains some of the factory front bumper features as well. These two predrilled holes right here, those are for a front license plate. So if you live in a state that requires that, you can mount it right up. Again, all the hardware is included in the kit for that. If you're doing any off-roading, you also get to keep your tow hooks. A great recovery option. No reason to have to lose those. Most aftermarket front bumpers require you to remove them but not the Barricade Extreme HD. Really nice touch. You also have these two metal panels right here in the front. Those are removable with a simple Allen key and the idea is if you have an EcoBoost engine, that's just going to allow the most amount of air possible to the intercooler. Make sure your truck runs cool which a lot of aftermarket front bumpers overlook. So again, a really nice touch. Well done, Barricade. If you like the look of this one, Barricade also manufactures the matching rear bumper so you can pick that one up from us as well. They really tie the whole look of the truck together. Now pricing for the front bumper is going to come in right around 650 bucks. At that price, this is one of the most cost-effective options for the '18 and up F-150 we have on the website and it's definitely, definitely well worth the money. If you don't believe me, take it from our customers. We have some awesome customer pictures on the website and it's very highly rated as well.Install is going to be extremely easy. No modification, no cutting, no drilling to get this installed on your F-150. Definitely a one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter here. Should take you at most two hours to get this installed right in the driveway. So without any further ado, let me show you what tools you'll need and then how it's done.Tools required for this install are going to be an impact or ratchet, couple of extensions, 19- and 16-millimeter wrenches, 21-, 19- and 16-millimeter sockets. So for this install we have our truck in the air. That just makes it a little bit easier to film. You do not need a lift jack or jack stands to do this. You could easily do it in your driveway. The first step, we're gonna grab a small extension and a 21-millimeter socket here. We're gonna loosen up some nuts underneath of our bumper and we're also going to unplug our fog lights. And the nut we're looking for is just gonna be toward the outside edge of the frame rail. And again, this guy is a 21-millimeter. Now we're just gonna come to the left a little bit here and we're just gonna grab our fog light. And twist it out. Now we're just gonna reach up to our fog light and we're gonna pull the two tabs on the back of the harness to release it and then we can pull that wiring harness away. Now we can come over to the other side, do the same thing. We're gonna remove that nut and then unplug our fog.So now we can attack the hardware from the front here and it is hidden behind these plastic pads. They're held in with some metal clips. So I'm just going to pry on them with a trim panel removal tool. You could also use a flathead screwdriver here. Just be careful of the paint on your truck. Maybe wrap it in some electrical tape, something like that. But with that said, I'm just gonna take the trim tool, get underneath, give that a good pry. It should pop right off. Now I'm gonna come over here, do the same thing for the other side. This corner right here is a good place to pry as well. It's kinda got a notch cut out of it that's perfect to get underneath of. Now we're gonna remove those four nuts, two on each side. And again, 21-millimeter socket here. And as you're doing this last one here, that's the last thing holding on your bumper so put a knee on it and then you can remove that as well and pull the bumper away.So now that we have our factory front bumper off the truck, I figured now would be the perfect time to sit it next to our new Barricade bumper and point out some of the key differences here and mainly the improvements that our new Barricade bumper is going to make. And the first one is gonna be the most obvious one and that's going to come in the looks department. We're ditching that factory plastic sort of look for a new upgraded plate steel with that textured black powder coating which really adds to the aggressive presence on the front end of our truck. It really gives it that off-roader look. This also has the chops to back up that off-roader look. Obviously, steel plate is going to be pretty tough but it's designed with off-roading in mind. Mainly, the ends taper up allowing you to get some more aggressive approach angle at the front of your truck, making it a little bit easier to get your front tires on an obstacle so you could go over them. So definitely what you want if you're planning on doing any off-roading.Now speaking about off-roading, this is also going to add utility on and off-road. On each side of the bumper we have spots that are ready to take 3-inch cube lights and right in the middle we have a spot for up to a 20-inch light bar. So more utility, more light out of the front of your truck here. Definitely an upgrade over those reflector style fog lights on the factory bumper. Now you also get to keep some features from that factory bumper with our new Barricade here. You could see right in the middle we have two predrilled holes. That's to mount up a front license plate. All the hardware is included in the kit if you do live in a state that requires a front plate. And on top of that, we have two cutouts on either side, one for each tow hook, so you get to keep those as a factory recovery point. Now there is one thing about the Barricade I wanted to touch on while we're here and it's those two plates right in the middle of the new front bumper. Those are removable. They're intended to up airflow if you have an EcoBoost model. That's going to allow you more airflow to your intercooler allowing you to basically run a turboed engine. I would definitely recommend removing those if you have an EcoBoost truck. Today we're working on a 5.0 so we're gonna leave them in place. And with that being said, we're ready to start installing our new bumper. We're not gonna need this just yet. We're going to move to the truck and grab the mounting brackets out of the kit and get those in place first. So now we can take our mounting bracket and you can see this side here is market with a P for passenger. We're just gonna put that in place on our frame rail. And use the hardware from the factory to secure it.Now I'm gonna tighten these down with the 21-millimeter socket again but I just wanted to touch on the fact that these are slotted. So you get some up and down, left and right. If this doesn't line up for you when we go put the bumper on, you can always come back and loosen these and make adjustments. I'm just gonna aim for the middle and tighten these down right now.Now there's one more hole here. This isn't intended for factory hardware. The kit includes new 19-millimeter hardware that's intended to go there. Now we're gonna come over to the other frame rail and do the same exact thing. Now we're gonna grab the bumper, put it up on our brackets and secure it with the 16-millimeter hardware. Now this thing is pretty heavy-duty here and it's also pretty tough to align once you have it up onto the truck so I recommend grabbing a friend for this step.So we have this secured with one or two bolts on either side at this point. We're just gonna get the rest of our 16-millimeter hardware started. And then we're going to align our bumper and come back with the impact and a wrench and tighten all of this down. Now we're just gonna come back, align our bumper and tighten down all of our hardware. And that is gonna do it for my review and install of the Barricade Extreme HD Front Bumper fitting all '18 and newer F-150s, excluding the Raptor models.
