Better Air Flow. Improve your engine’s airflow performance with the Airaid Cold Air Dam Intake with Black SynthaMax Dry Filter. This cold air intake system is engineered to give your Silverado’s engine larger amounts of cooler air to produce more torque and horsepower. This replaces your factory air box with a cold air dam that blocks engine heat more effectively, and adds a bigger intake tube to get cooler air.
No Tuning Needed. No additional tuning is needed when you install the Airaid Cold Air Intake System in your Silverado. It has already undergone tuning to ensure better performance.
Low Maintenance Air Filter. The Airaid SynthaMax dry filter is manufactured from a high-flow 8-layer cotton gauze material that is washable and reusable, for superior filtration compared to traditional paper material. It features a 360-degree conical shape, and can last for 30,000 to 50,000 miles on the road before it has to be washed and cleaned.
Tough Construction. This cold air intake system features a mandrel-formed inlet piping that is made from high-density polyethylene for durability and strength. It comes with a black powder coating inside and out that provides better flow and protection against corrosion and other harsh outdoor elements.
Efficient Filter Protection. The Airaid Cold Air Dam uses panels to guide in supplying steady, free-flowing cooler outside air into your Silverado’s engine. The cold air dam can be easily mounted in the factory air box location and fits on the factory cold air inlet duct. The panels also protect the air filter from hot engine air by closing off the underside of the hood using blade-style weather stripping.
Easy to Install. It only takes about 30 minutes to install the Airaid Air Intake System, and you only need to use your basic hand tools to do so. Since it is custom-designed specifically for your 2006 Silverado, it will easily slide right in, eliminating the need to drill, cut or have fabrication done.
