Justin: The AFE Apollo GT Series Muffler Delete that we have here today will, hands down, be one of the easiest and most affordable ways to crank the volume on your 2019 and newer 5.3 Silverado at home. Now, this kit from AFE will include a single 3-inch piece of mandrel-bent 409-grade stainless steel which will replace the factory muffler on your 5.3 Silverado for just over 100 bucks. Now, there is some cutting involved here to get that factory muffler out of the equation and then clamping in the new pipe, so therefore the site is gonna knock things up to a solid two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and call this one a couple of hours at absolute most to complete from start to finish. But let's just jump right into the sound clips to here you can expect with the Muffler Delete in place. And the AFE Delete is going to peg the bang for your buck meter. Now, not so much to wake-the-neighbors scale, but with the stock exhaust, let's just call it a one out of five. I'm gonna call the AFE Delete a healthy or solid three out of five on our one to five or one to-wake-the-neighbors scale. Now, it's certainly a noticeable increase in both bark and aggressiveness, and a lot of owners out there might just prefer the sound you're getting from something like this without needing to invest in a full-blown catback or something that's gonna be a lot more expensive. Now, you are gonna certainly hear this thing on the inside of the truck. It's a noticeable increase in sound, but it's certainly not gonna be anything that might drive you crazy on a long road trip or anything like that.Well, it's starting to sound, let's break down your construction and build in. Honestly, guys, things really couldn't be any simpler here with the AFE. You're looking at a single piece of mandrel bent 3-inch tubing which, again, is out of that 409-grade stainless steel, and that's gonna do a solid job of resisting corrosion over time and it is essentially the same material used with most factory exhaust systems. Finally, AFE does include a couple clamps which you can see right here just to get everything in place properly. Speaking of which, now we just wanna show you what it takes to get the AFE Apollo Series installed on your truck at home. So without further ado, check out our detailed walkthrough and tool breakdown right now.Man: To install this Muffler Delete, we're only gonna need just a few tools. To start, we're gonna need an impact driver with a 3/8 socket adapter and a 15-millimeter socket, a cutoff tool, which today we're gonna use a Sawzall with a metal blade, a tape measure, and a marker. You can do this job with jack stands, but today I have the availability of a lift, so that's what we're gonna use. So today we're gonna be installing this AFE Muffler Delete pipe. To start, you wanna cut right at the front side of your weld, there, and then on the back of the muffler, you wanna measure back 2 and 3/4 inches from your weld and put a mark and that's where you're gonna cut. Okay. We're gonna use a reciprocating saw to cut off this muffler. And we also happen to have a transmission jack. So since we are having one person film, we used it to hold the muffler. So we are gonna be installing this pipe. In the directions, it says to remove the back half of your exhaust. We find that unnecessary because you can slip it over the backside pipe far enough to get it to go over the front. You slide it on there, a little bit of maneuvering. And make sure that the angle of your pipe is out away from your driveshaft and we'll get our impact ready and tighten down our clamps. So we're gonna use our impact with our 15-millimeter socket and tighten these clamps down. Want to get your clamp on top of your slots and not in the slot, not in the center of the clank. And move up here and do the front one. And now we're gonna start it and test for any leaks.Justin: Wrapping things up here, guys, the AFE Apollo GT Series Muffler Delete, gonna be a great option, again, to crank the volume on your 2019 and newer 5.3 Silverado at home. So be sure to check one out right here at americantrucks.com.
