As far as these go, the AFE 1-5/8-Inch Twisted Steel Shorty Headers are a perfect choice. These shorty headers combine optimized tube lengths and 4-to-1 mitered merge collectors designed to greatly increase exhaust gas velocity. This, in turn, keeps your combustion cycles moving along, efficiently producing increases in power and torque you can feel.
Aggressive Sound Quality. These shorty headers will also transform your truck’s exhaust tone from a mechanical growl to an aggressive roar. This way your truck will sound just as well as it performs.
Retains Factory Catalytic Converters. These shorty headers are designed to replace your stock exhaust manifold right before the catalytic converters. This means you get to keep your factory cats and thus maintain factory emissions levels.
Durable Stainless Build Quality. These shorty headers are constructed from premium 16-gauge 304 stainless steel tubes with an outside diameter of 1-5/8, making them extremely durable and corrosion-resistant. Furthermore, these stainless steel tubes are CNC mandrel bent and expertly MIG-welded, ensuring outstanding exhaust gas flow. The flanges for their part are machined from 3/8-inch thick stainless steel plates, providing a leak-free seal. Lastly, these headers come in a natural finish designed to take on an eye-catching patina over time.
ECU Re-Tuning Not Required. These headers provide the gains in power and torque courtesy of their free-flowing design and do not require re-tuning of your ECU. However, it is always a good idea to re-tune your ECU in the future to ensure your engine and these headers are completely in sync performance-wise.
