STEP 1: Complete kit with parts.


STEP 2: Complete stock intake.


STEP 3: Remove the three 10mm bolts holding the throttle body cover.


STEP 4: Loosen the factory hose clamp on the throttle body,and the 3/4" idle air bypass hose and the 5/8" breather hose. On some 04-05 models the IAB is not present.


STEP 5: Unplug the IAT sensor and remove the intake duct from the engine. On some 04-05 models the IAT sensor is not present.


STEP 6: Lift air filter housing by pulling straight up it is held in place with 2 rubber gromets. On the back side is of the canister is the MAF harness. Unplug harness form vehicle and remove.


STEP 7: Separate the filter canister by unfastening the band clamp and removing the air filter. Disconnect the harness from the MAF sensor. Unbolt the MAF Sensor from the filter base and the short wire harness set aside for later use


STEP 8: Mount the MAF sensor and MAF sensor gasket to the outside of the air filter housing, use injection molded adapter on filter side. Use the (4) M6x1x20 screws and tighten down with a 10mm wrench.


STEP 9: Remove the 8mm bolt that secures the cruise control(see arrow).Insert the plastic spacers into the rubber gromets.On the 04-05 models there is no cruise control bracket. A m6 screw and washer is provided.


STEP 10: Insert the air filter housing into the engine bay and bolt down the housing to the bottom bracket with the suplied nuts and bolts. Reinstall the 8mm bolt that secures the cruise control.


STEP 11: Install the hump hose and clamps on the air filter housing and install the 3" straight coupler and clamp on the throttle body


STEP 12: Install the smaller end of the intake tube into the throttle body coupler and insert other end into the hump coupler on the hosing. Tighten down clamps on both couplers.


STEP 13: Install the rubber grommet into the IAT sensor location. Reinstall the IAT sensor and reconnect harness. At this time plug the MAF sensor into the harness and secure harness on the side of the housing with the included mounting holes. If you do not have a IAT sensor use the provided grommet and cap to seal the opening.


STEP 14: Install the 3/4" idle air bypass hose and the 5/8" breather hose on the intake tube and tighten down clamps. If you do not have a idle air bypass valve seal with the provided 3/4" vacuum cap. Install air filter and tighten down the clamp.


STEP 15: Place enclosed CARB EO sticker on a clean/smooth surface on or near the intake system. Your installation is now complete. Close hood slowly to verify hood clearance. Check and retighten connections and filter after a few hours of operation.


Note: Filter Cleaning and Re-oiling: When cleaning your aFe filter, be sure to use only aFe’s “Restore Kit” aFe P/N: 90-50001 blue oil aerosol, or aFe P/N: 90-50501 blue squeeze bottle oil on Filter Replacement: PN: 24-90039 (black w/blue media).
