How to Install AFE 1-5/8 in. Twisted Steel Headers & Y-Pipe - Race on your F-150

1. (Read Instructions prior to installation.) Secure vehicle on jack stands (refer to your manual for specified jack stand positions).
2. Disconnect the battery before starting work on the exhaust system.
3. Remove bolts securing heat shields to transmission brace.
4. Secure transmission and remove nuts securing transmission to brace.
5. Remove nuts and bolts from transmission brace to chassis. Do not remove, only loosen driver side nut and bolt and let
transmission brace hang.
6. Remove O2 sensors from y-pipe.
7. Remove nuts from y-pipe to header flange.
8. Loosen clamp on y-pipe.
9. Unbolt y-pipe hanger bracket from brace and remove y-pipe.
10. Remove bolt holding dip stick tube bracket.
11. Remove dipstick tube.
12. Remove x8 nuts from left side exhaust manifold.
13. Remove exhaust manifold.
14. Install aFe Power left side header and gasket. Tighten header.
15. Reinstall dip stick tube and secure the dip stick tube bracket to engine.
16. Remove right front wheel well liner.
17. Remove x8 nuts from right side exhaust manifold.
18. Remove right side exhaust manifold.
19. Install aFe Power right side header and gasket. Tighten header.
20. Swap over y-pipe hanger rod bracket to aFe Power Y-pipe.
21. Install left and right side y-pipe using the supplied spherical band clamps to the headers. Do not tighten clamps at this time.
22. Using supplied band clamp, connect the left and right y-pipes to get. Do not tighten band clamp at this time.
23. Connect y-pipe to exhaust system. Adjust y-pipes and tighten all clamps.
24. Install and tighten all o2 sensors.
25. Install transmission brace and tighten all nuts and bolts.
26. Reinstall the left and right side heat shields.
27. Reinstall front right wheel well liner.
28. Check your work to make sure everything is tight.
29. Reconnect battery.
