It replaces the existing HMI module with a pre-programmed unit featuring integrated maps covering North America, eliminating OnStar turn-by-turn subscription fees common with other navigation services.
Construction and Appearance. This upgrade includes a genuine Chevrolet navigation HMI module and a GPS antenna, both engineered to OEM standards. The system’s hardware boasts a plug-and-play design intended to seamlessly integrate with the vehicle's dashboard layout, preserving factory aesthetics and controls.
Installation. Installation is relatively straightforward, rated 2 out of 5 in difficulty, with no drilling required. The process involves removing the old HMI module, installing the new pre-programmed unit, and routing the provided GPS antenna beneath the dash under the windshield. It is recommended to disconnect the negative battery terminal during installation.
