Hey, guys. Adam here with americantrucks.com, and today we're taking a very quick look at and installing the Carven 5-Inch Tip Replacements in the ceramic black finish, available for all 2019 and newer RAM 1500s with the factory dual exhaust. Now, you should be checking these out, guys, plain and simply if you're looking to ditch the factory dual exhaust tips that are 4-inch and polished, not even really, kind of just a sober finish for something that's more aggressive, a lot stealthier and, honestly, just looks way better 100%. These tips are 5 inches, so a whole inch bigger than your factory which doesn't sound like a lot, but it makes a huge difference. They're giant tips and the big thing is the ceramic black coating. They're gonna last a lot longer and they're gonna be rust and corrosion-resistant, while also having, sort of, a matte finish to them. That ceramic gives it a more matte or satin finish. It also has the Carven logo laser-etched on the top. It's TIG-welded, has stainless steel finish and it is double-walled. So it's super thick and very durable. So really at the end of the day, guys, if you have the factory dual exhaust and you're just looking to switch things up at the rear and make a big difference, for right around 200 bucks, this is gonna be a great way to go. I'm a big Carven fan. They make some of the highest quality exhaust components on the market. When it comes to a simple tip replacement, in my opinion, doesn't get much better than this. Now, keep in mind, guys, this is meant for the factory dual exhaust, but if you have an aftermarket exhaust that by chance happens to have a disconnected tip at the rear, the exact same as your factory exhaust would, then this would fit. I can't imagine there's many people out there who have a catback that fits that description, so really this is gonna be for the factory exhaust guys looking for a simple rear-end change. Now, like I said, 200 bucks or around 200 bucks gets you the dual tips you see here. The install, very simple one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. You are gonna reuse the factory ball clamps which are welded to a bracket clipped into the factory exhaust, which is very removable. And I'll show you guys what that means in just a little bit. No, there's no welding, no modification, no cutting, no nonsense. I'm gonna take you through every step of the process. It'll take you about 30 minutes from start to finish. Let's get to it.Tools used in this install include an impact gun or a ratchet, 13-millimeter deep socket, and a flathead screwdriver. All right, guys. Now, what you're gonna have to do is just unbolt this clamp or loosen this clamp up here, holding the tip and that extension tailpipe here to your muffler. Now it's really simple. Grab a 13-millimeter socket. Just gonna loosen this guy up with an impact gun or a ratchet. Once it's nice and loose, that'll break free. Now, you may have to completely loosen it up for it to come off. All right, it's as simple as that. Now, looking at this clamp, you can see it's welded onto this little bracket here, attached to the tip itself. Now, you can either break this free and outta this little mechanism or you can cut it off, completely up to you. Now, like I said, you can pop this out. If you grab a flathead screwdriver, basically gonna pry up this retainer tab. This tab here in the middle is holding this in from popping off. So we wanna reuse this, so we're just gonna pull that up and pull this guy out. All right. From here we can reuse this for our new Carven tip, all right? For the install, it's super simple. You're gonna take your Carven tip, and keep in mind the Carven name is embedded on the top and it's slash cut, so you wanna make sure this portion with the Carven name is facing up. We're gonna take the tip, insert that factory ball clamp over top, and we're gonna connect it to the rest of the exhaust. They're gonna sit right inside of each other, just like that, and you're gonna orient that clamp in a way that it connects it without any exhaust leak. So pops over just like that. Now, we can take our 13 socket and tighten this guy down. And, what I like to do is get it nice and snug. That way, it holds itself in and we can orient the clamp and the tip where we want it to be. All right, from here tighten it down. Once you have it nice and tight, repeat for the other side.Well, we finally got our factory tip off of our RAM 1500 here, the 2019. I wanted to give you guys a side-by-side comparison between the Carven 5-inch tip that we have here in ceramic black and the factory tip that comes with the dual exhaust. Now, aside from the tip itself, you can see the connection styles are the exact same. They're about 2 1/4 inch, about 2 inches. They're gonna fit any exhaust that has this inlet. The tip size is what is the biggest difference here. Now, this is going from the factory 4-inch to the Carven 5-inch. Now, that inch is making a huge difference. This thing is absolutely massive and it just looks super aggressive at the rear.Another big difference here is going from this polished stainless steel to a ceramic black stainless steel. Now, the ceramic black isn't gonna fade, isn't gonna crack, isn't gonna discolor over time in the sunlight. This is holding up in the long haul and it's protecting it from rust and corrosion. This is a 2019 RAM, so it's pretty much brand new off the lot. It's already seeing signs of a little bit of rust on the inside. We can see it around the welds. This is holding up a lot better and it's gonna hold up a lot longer. Now, aside from that, it's also TIG-welded got and it's got a dual-walled framed all the way around it. So it's a lot thicker and a little bit heftier, which makes it a little bit more impact-resistant as well, not something you'd see from the flimsy factory exhaust. Now, that's really the biggest difference. The other thing that you'll find on the top here of the Carven is a laser-etched Carven exhaust logo. I personally think it looks awesome. I'm not a huge fan of some of the ones that are embedded into the material. I like this laser-etched, has a nice texture to it, and I think it just looks pretty badass. Overall, huge upgrade, it's definitely something I'd do to my own 2019. And I want to shut up and install the second one, so we can see what that looks like. So I'm gonna set this aside and we can do the exact same thing to our driver side. All right. Now, we can do the same thing on this side. Well, guys, that's gonna wrap up my review and install for the Carven Exhaust 5-Inch Replacement Tips in the ceramic black finish, for the 2019 and newer RAM 1500s with the factory dual exhaust. If you wanna get this upgrade, you can do so right here at americantrucks.com.
