Justin: Hey, guys. Justin here at americantrucks.com, and, hey, if you're looking for an easy-to-install and very affordable way to help keep your 2014 and newer RAM 2500 level and stable while towing or hauling a heavy load, well, then the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System that we have here today might just be the way to go. Now, the Timbren system will replace your factory rear bump stops with a heavy-duty rubber spring that will drastically improve the ride quality while towing and also helping to prevent that rear-end squat in your rig.So, if you're watching this video, then chances are you already know why you would need to add something like the Timbren in here. Now, basically, again, this is to help reduce rear-end sag when hauling or towing heavy, and to add more stability at the same time. Now, what happens when you haul or tow heavy without any aftermarket support in place in the rear is that that added weight does contribute to a decent amount of sag, depending on your load, and at that point, the front end gets a little bit light, which reduces the steering and breaking capabilities along with raising your headlight beams and ultimately just making for an overall sketchy experience. Now, there are a couple of different ways to go about fixing this, one of which would be to add an airbag system which can be a little bit pricey, along with being a little bit more difficult to install due to having to run an air compressor and all the necessary wiring and airlines. Now, your other option would be to do something like the Timbren here, which is essentially a helper spring system that will not only be a lot more affordable than airbags, but will be a lot more easy to install as well, and again, will be completely maintenance free over the years. Now, what this kit from Timbren will do is basically replace your cheap factory jounce or bump stops with a heavy-duty rubber helper spring to act as a new bump stop when unloaded, but as a helper spring once you've hooked up to your trailer or camper, and at this point, helps provide a much smoother, more controlled ride. Now, it's able to do this through the hollow rubber spring here, as you guys can see, which features a progressive spring rate much like a wound steel spring. Now, basically, the harder this rubber is compressed, the harder it works to help keep that rear end level while still controlling the compression and rebound of the rear, and ultimately, again, making for a much smoother ride. Now, those rubber springs are gonna ride in the included steel brackets, so as you can see right here, guys. They have been powder-coated black to resist any corrosion over the years, and the best part is, is that because these are so simple and easy to install along with being maintenance-free, Timbren does back everything with a limited lifetime warranty against any failures or defects.Moving into price, guys, and again, one of the big appealing factors when talking about the Timbren system as opposed to a dedicated airbag system is the overall cost. You're looking at right around 300 bucks here for the kit, maybe a little bit less, and that's gonna be roughly a fraction of the cost of a dedicated bag set up for the rear of your HD. Not only that, but as you'll see in a minute, much easier to install, and you are still getting that lifetime warranty. So, again, if you're looking to help control the rear end, eliminate some squat on the cheap, this is certainly gonna be a great budget-friendly way to do so.Shifting gears, let's touch on that install, again, one of the highlights of the kit here, guys. Site's gonna call it a pretty soft two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter due to the simple bolt-on job. They're saying it can be done in about an hour or two at absolute most from start to finish. But now to give you a better idea of just how this job will go down in the driveway or garage, let's head out to the shop for our detailed walkthrough and tool breakdown.Man: Tools required for this install include an impact gun, 16-millimeter ratcheting wrench, an extension, and 16-millimeter and 17-millimeter sockets. What's up, guys? Today, we're installing a rear bump stop on our RAM, so let's get started. So our first step is to uninstall our factory bump stop. Now we have a 16-millimeter bolt in the front as well as one in the back, so we'll grab a 16-millimeter socket on an impact gun to get those out. And then we can do that same thing on the other side. So now we're ready to assemble our bump stop spacer. So we have our actual bump stop that has a washer down in there, and then we'll take a 17-millimeter socket on an extension, and put our bolt through the hole. Then we can add our puck, and then we'll thread that into the threaded hole on our bump stop. And then we can put that extension and socket onto an impact gun to tighten down our bolt. And then we'll do the same thing for our other space. So now we can install our new bump stop. So we're gonna thread in the front bolt, and then we have a slot that we can slide that into. And then we'll thread in our rear bolt. And we'll grab our 16-millimeter socket to tighten down our rear bolt. And for our front bolt, we'll get a 16-millimeter ratcheting wrench. So that'll wrap up this review and install of the Timbren Rear Axle SES Suspension Enhancement System for your 2014 and newer RAM 2500. Thank you for watching, and for all things RAM, keep it right here at americantrucks.com.
