It is suggested that you first clean the mounting surfaces before installation to prevent dirt particles from getting trapped in between the molding and your truck. Furthermore, it is recommended you warm up the mounting surfaces when installing this in cold weather as the adhesive is more effective on warm surfaces. This can be accomplished using a heat gun or hairdryer.
