The RedRock 4x4 Smoked Window Deflectors that we have here today will hands-down be one of the most affordable ways on the site to get a set of front and rear deflectors on your '09 to '18 crew cab Ram at home. Now, this set of four will combine a durable injection-molded acrylic build along with that dark smoked appearance all for right around the $30 to $40 price point. Installation on the site, guys, is going to get a relatively soft one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. It's a peel and stick job, taking you no more than 20 minutes to complete from start to finish as we'll demonstrate later in the video. Now, the general idea behind any window deflector is a pretty simple one, right? Allow truck owners to leave their windows cracked for circulation or while having a smoke, and helping to prevent any rain or excess wind from getting inside. Now, this will help keep your truck a little bit cooler in those hot summer months by leaving your windows cracked a bit while parked, or by also allowing you to air out your cab or interior while driving, and again, keeping the excess wind noise or rain to an absolute minimum. And, as an added bonus, they look kind of cool to boot. But, as I mentioned earlier, guys, these particular deflectors will be one of the most affordable of their kind here on the site, especially when compared to some of your bigger name options such as WeatherTech. Now, don't get me wrong, some of those more expensive options are going to be a bit sleeker by design, possibly deliver a little bit more coverage, but again, if you're just looking for a basic deflector that will get the job done for around 30 to 40 bucks, the RedRock options that we have here are certainly hard to beat. Now, materials across the board with wind deflectors are generally pretty similar. Typically you're going to encounter an injection-molded acrylic, which is the case here with the RedRock options. And also, in this case, they're going to be finished off in that dark smoked appearance. That's going to be kind of the norm in this category. Yes, you can also find them here on the site with a chrome finish for chrome package truck owners out there who might prefer a little bit more flash. On the other hand, if you prefer to keep things a little bit more low key, the smoked option generally is going to be the way to roll, especially on darker trucks or trucks out there that have dark window tint. This kit does, again, include two fronts and two rears for your crew cabin. Does not need any drilling or permanent modification to be installed. Instead, you're just simply going to mount them using the supplied 3M automotive tape and that's it. But to give you a better idea of how the job will go down, check out our detailed walkthrough right now.Items used for this installation include a microfiber towel along with a spray bottle filled with a cleaning solution. All right, guys. First things first, you want to make sure the area is nice and clean for that 3M double-sided tape to adhere to. So, this is a very important part, obviously, since it's on the exterior of the truck. If you don't have a clean surface, you run the risk of not getting a great adhesion. We're just using some basic Windex here, but if you wanted to ensure a very, very clean surface, it might not be a bad idea to use like an alcohol prep pad or something similar. Now, you want to peel the backing on your 3M automotive tape. Now comes the moment of truth. Now, obviously, we have all of our backing peeled at one time. So, you want to make sure you kind of get this in place right the first time. You don't want to start guessing and pulling it off because at that point you run the risk of ruining your tape. So, make sure you line it up great the first time. And then I like to actually start with this against the mirror housing here as a starting point, and then going up from there. So, we'll start with that first. Give it a few good presses here. You might want to make sure that you let this sit in the sun for a little bit. Let that adhesion really kind of bake on there, but once it's on, you should be good to go.Now we're going to move on to our rear. Pretty much repeat the process. We're going to peel the tape on this side, and then we're going to leave a majority of the tape on here and we'll show you why in a second. So, now we're just going to rinse and repeat with what we did the first time around. We've already cleaned off our surface. We've got this portion of the tape peeled off right here. So, what we're going to do is basically make sure we line up our height to make these as even as possible, and then we're going to leave that little bit of tape we peeled earlier in place. And I'll show you why here once we get started. So, let's go ahead and get this lined up height-wise with our front door. That's pretty good to me. So, we'll start that side. Make sure it's not going anywhere. Now, what we're going to do is take this guy, and again, make sure we're nice and level, and start that, and then make sure we don't lose our angle here. We're going to hold this and then gently peel away the backing kind of adhering it as we go. There you go. They look nice and level with our front. Pretty easy job, guys, peel and stick stuff here, again, you might want to give this an hour or so before you go blasting down the highway. Just make sure that tape has time to do its thing. All right, guys, that's going to do it for our review and install of the RedRock 4x4 Wind Deflectors, available for your '09 to '18 Ram at home.
