Justin: If you'd like to drastically modernize the taillights on your 2010 through 2018 HD RAM at home, then you'll wanna check out the LED taillights that we're talking about here today. Now, these DOT-approved taillights will feature a stealthy look, thanks to the black housing along with a high-powered, modern LED operation all at a rather affordable price point. So, the big story here, guys, is gonna be the combination of that LED operation along with the more modified blacked-out appearance. Now, your brake lights and turn signals are gonna be handled up here thanks to the LEDs. And these LEDs are gonna be far brighter than your stock taillights and will drastically improve your visibility from the rear, which in turn should help your safety at the same time. And then, of course, we can't forget about just that stealthy, sinister look. If you're going for that all-blacked-out look with your HD, these will certainly help get you there. Now, as far as your construction goes, well, again, you are getting a black ABS plastic housing, which is then topped off with a clear lens. Still gonna allow for plenty of visibility, of course, but with that DOT approval, which does make these legal for use in all 50 states. Now, I also really enjoy how the upper block is handled here as far as a design standpoint, looks really sharp, and I think it will look great both when the taillights are on and even the daytime when the truck is parked, it'll look great off as well. Now, finally, guys, these lights have been given a bunch of four and five-star reviews back on the site along with a plethora of customer-submitted images. So, definitely check some of those out, read up on some reviews to hear from fellow HD owners before making your final decision.Coming in at or around that mid to high $200 price point, I would say these LED options will land kind of in the middle of the pack in regards to other similar LED options on the site at this time. Now, you're certainly gonna find more basic OE-styled options available, maybe without LED operation on the lower end of the price point or price spectrum. And then, of course, you can factor in options from Alpharex or Raxiom kind of topping out that higher end of the spectrum at the end of the day. But overall, I would say, guys, that mid to high $200 level seems to be the sweet spot for most of the LED taillights for the fourth gens currently on the site at this time. Finally here, guys, I do wanna point out that the lights do feature a direct swap plug-and-play install, so there's no crazy wiring needed or anything like that. Instead, this should be a pretty painless day in the garage or driveway for you. Now, because of that, Sight's gonna still call this one a very soft two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. I think that's being a bit generous. But regardless, figure an hour at absolute most from start to finish to get these in place and get everything up and running. But now, to give you a better idea of just how things will go down, check out our detailed walkthrough and tool breakdown.Man: For this install, you will need a ratchet and a T25 Torx bit. What's up, guys? Today, we're gonna be doing some taillights on our RAM, so let's get started. So, we're gonna go ahead and remove our taillight. Now, it's just being held in by these two T25 Torx screws here. So, we're gonna grab our T25 Torx bit on our ratchet, run those out, and then we can pull our taillight. Go ahead and keep these right here because we're going to reuse them. Go ahead and pull our taillight out. They do have these little locators on the outside, you just need to pop that off. Then we're gonna go ahead and unplug our lights. So, for this upper one, we'll pull our safety tab back, push down on that, pop that one off. And for our bottom one here, we just need to push in on the tab, pull that off. We can set that aside. And once you have it done for this side, you can go ahead and repeat these same steps for the other side. So, for these taillights, we're gonna need to transfer a few things over to our new set. So, we're gonna pull these bulb sockets out of our factory ones, and those are simply just gonna be a quarter turn counterclockwise to pop them out of their seat and be out just like that. So, we'll go ahead and do that for both lights. Set those over here. And we can set our factory light aside. So, now, we've got our new light here, and we're gonna remove these little adhesive covers for our sockets. Just peel those back. It'll be a bit of a pain. Go ahead and peel that off. We'll do the same thing for our other light. Pop those off. And once we do that, we can go ahead and transfer our reverse light straight over to our new setup, so we'll get that back in its seat. And we're gonna give that a quarter turn clockwise. Lock it in. Can be pretty tough when they're brand new, but they will go. And then for our main bulb here, we're going to actually remove the bulb itself. Go ahead and pop that out. Now, if you want to save this bulb, you want to wear gloves or something and not touch the actual glass, that can create hot spots from the oils on your skin. But we're not really worried about ours, so we'll just set that aside. Then we're going to go ahead and plug our LED adapter into our bulb socket, just like so. Then we'll go ahead and tuck that in. We'll find its seat and give that a quarter turn or a half turn clockwise as well just to lock it in. Then we can go ahead and get ready to put our light in.So, now, we're ready to get our light into place. And the first thing we're going to do is go ahead and secure our converter box. So, it has an adhesive backing. So, we'll go ahead and peel the cover off that first. Then we're gonna go ahead and stick that right back here in this opening. This is out of the way, doesn't interfere with anything. Then we can go ahead and plug our lights back in and they're just gonna go right back in like factory. So, then we'll go ahead and plug our factory connectors right back in. Make sure they click into place. And then get our bottom one in as well. Make sure that's secure. Now, go ahead set our light in position. We'll grab our T25 Torx screws. Go ahead and get those set in. We'll grab our T25 Torx bit on our ratchet, go ahead and tighten these down. Now, once you have it done for this side, you can go ahead and repeat these same steps for the other side. All righty, guys, that about wraps up our review and install of our LED taillights with black housings and clear lenses for your 10-18 RAM 2500 with factory halogen taillights. Thanks for watching. And as always, for everything RAM, keep it right here at AmericanTrucks.com.
