Description
Quicker Turbocharger Function. Improve turbocharger response with the MBRP 3-Inch Installer Series Turbo Downpipe; CARB Certified. This turbo downpipe combines a free-flowing design with less restrictive construction to maximize exhaust gas velocity. The result is a faster turbocharger response, which, in turn, enhances your Silverado’s power and torque numbers. And since this downpipe is CARB-certified, you get to revel in your newfound power both on the road and off of it.
Aggressive New Sound. As an added bonus, this MBRP turbo downpipe will take your stock exhaust note and give it a deeper, more aggressive tone. Specifically, your new sound still comes with the classic turbocharged sound but with a deeper bass-heavy rumble underneath. This way, you get an exhaust note that matches your newly improved power.
Reduced Heat. This turbo downpipe is also preconfigured with highly effective heat wrap. This heat wrap is designed to maintain the high exhaust gas temperature inside your downpipe to encourage faster exhaust gas velocity, reducing turbo lag. What’s more, this insulating wrap helps keep engine bay heat relatively lower to protect more sensitive electronics.
Resilient Build Quality. This turbo downpipe is constructed from high-grade aluminized steel, providing exceptional durability and improved resistance to corrosion. Additionally, this downpipe is fully mandrel bent, increasing rigidity and ensuring a free-flowing inner structure. Finally, this component is finished in an advanced high-temperature black coating, which further manages its heat.
Trouble-Free Install Procedure. This MBRP turbo downpipe installs into your Silverado using factory locations. No modifications to your truck are needed. Also, installation is completed using standard hand tools and all mounting hardware is included for convenience.
ECU Re-Tune Recommended. This turbo downpipe’s less restrictive design means a greater volume of exhaust gas is delivered to your turbocharger. This factor may change how your ECU reads airflow, resulting in a check engine light that can only be removed via an ECU re-tune. An ECU re-tune will also optimize your truck’s performance to your new downpipe so you get the full benefits of this upgrade.
CARB-Certified with CARB EO Number D-763-2. This turbo downpipe is CARB certified with EO number D-763-2. This makes this performance component fully 50-state street legal.
