Well-Designed Exhaust System. Affordable but effective, the MBRP Installer Series 3-inch Single Side Exit Cat-Back Exhaust brings the full suite of MBRP's carefully engineered exhaust systems to the table when it comes to improving your 2014-2018 Sierra's performance. Sound is very important with an exhaust system, and the Installer Series Cat-Back delivers a full but mellow exhaust note that is heard as a quiet, pleasant rumble in the cab. The 4.5" polished exhaust tip adds a swanky touch to your truck's styling, while the system causes exhaust gases to gush out rather than building up, loosing the engine's potential to the tune of +1-2 mpg and +5-10% torque and hp. The cooler exhaust temperatures (up to 200° F cooler) also help prevent breakdowns.

Winning Design. Built with professional attention to detail, the MBRP Installer Series Cat-Back Exhaust features 16-gauge 3-inch piping and an all-welded chambered muffler for top performance. With the exception of the T-304 stainless steel tip, the system is made from aluminized steel that is affordable and backed by 3 year limited warranty. Aluminum silica reinforcement on the seams helps delay that event.

Easy Installation. The installation process of MBRP Cat-Back Exhaust is easy and the exhaust system can be installed with common hand tools. The bolt-on, no weld design provides you with a hassle-free installation process that can be completed in approximately 1-2 hours. Depending on your cab and box size, some cutting to the piping may be required.

Application. The MBRP Installer Series 3-inch Single Side Exit Cat-Back Exhaust is designed to fit with all of the cab and box configurations available for the 2014-2018 5.3L GMC Sierra 1500 models with an one-piece driveshaft.

5 2018 Base - ComfortEagle Installation Time: Afternoon

        Nice tone...

Installed on my 2018 Sierra std cab with 8' bed. Installation was super easy. OEM rubber hangers and one clamp (which I broke...) must be reuse. This exhaust gives the truck a really nice tone; it's not super loud but just right... My truck no longer sounds like a sewing machine.

5 2014 LTZ - LoistheLTZ Installation Time: Afternoon

        Great value

A super easy install, the only downside is you may have to cut the factory exhaust out unless you have a lift. Otherwise good tone and not overpowering.

I was a little skeptical at first because of how good the price was and with me having a 4.3 Silverado BUT this exhaust is actually really awesome, it sounds great for the price I recommend it

4 2016 LT - Chevyts Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Nice exhuast

Its a nice cheaper exhuast bolt on system. Its not loud but it has a decent growl on cold start and when you punch the gas. I have 2 little ones in the truck with me and didnt want anything too loud. This is perfect. Cant hardly hear it inside the cabin until you punch on it and even then its not loud inside the cabin. I have 2 conplaints about the system I wish the tip was longer and i wish they would send a new factory exhuast clamp that they want you to re use. My was rusted and not reusable so i had to go order a new one. But the system lined up perfect with factory hanger locations. All in all a good cheaper system. I did it myself. Cut the old one out and installed the new one in about an hour.

        5 2017 - Tysky7 Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Great bang for the buck!

It’s perfect for the owner who just wants a little extra noise from the pipes and it’s super easy to install. No drone whatsoever.

        5 2018 LT - LukeB

        Great value

Added this with a cold air intake with a spacer. From what I read it's the same one in regards to sound and performance just a cheaper metal. Ok, works for me. Doing the install FIRST if your doing it in the driveway and have little helpers you must drop the spare and jack up the rear at the hitch so you dont ruin everyone's day. It took me longer than it should. Once I did that the whole thing came right out. Second, this is a cheaper metal attaching to the catalytic keep that in mind. I think the only difference between this and a 1k cat back system is the sound. Your not going to get monster gains driving to and from work or cruising the strip.

5 2015 - ConnorK Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        MBRP review

Was somewhat hesitant with how cheap it was compared to other ones. I’ve had it on my truck for about a week now and it is nice. Definitely is a noticeable difference from stock. Sounds throaty ands has a nice low rumble when you get in the gas. Install was pretty easy. Comes with all the hangers and clamps that meets up with stock mounts. Recommend having a lift or jacking the truck up.

5 2015 LT - EricWojtach Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Awesome budget exhaust!!

First off you cant beat the price for this budget priced cat back. Installation is straight forward and simple. If you are doing this in your driveway you more than likely will have to be cutting your oem exhaust as you dont have the space to fish it out compared to being on a vehicle lift. The exhaust note is perfect, not to loud not to quiet and there is hardly any drone. I would recommend getting a tuner to disable the Active Fuel Management (4cyl mode) because it sounds bad with that enabled.

Easy to install and sounds just right.

Super easy to install, bolts right up and took less than an hour. Definitely invest in a hanger tool. The sound is perfect, not to loud and not to quiet.

I live in New England where they salt the roads in the winter how will this hold up against salt? And why is the black version of this $200 more? Is it because the black ones painted for the New England salt?

      • This stainless steel has been known to hold up well to conditions such as those. The black version is a black aluminized steel, which costs more.

Will there be any issues when my 2015 5.3L Sierra kicks down to 4 cylinders? I’ve read that some after market cat back exhaust system cause issues when the trucks kick down to 4 cal and a programming change is necessary.

Will this throw a code after installation?

      • Since the emission components are not being changed or modified this would not produce a code on your truck.
