      • Use a fuse shackle to feed through the loop on the rope dampener and then through the rope loop of a kinetic rope, static rope, or winch rope next to the attached fuse shackle.

      • Slide the fuse shackle loop over the knot and pull both sides to tighten the loop, positioning the knot so that the loop pulls at ninety degrees next to the knot.

      • Drape the rope dampener over the attached rope or allow it to hang down during recovery operations.

Positioned near the fuse shackle, it absorbs kinetic energy to effectively reduce slingback hazards.
