Description
Heavy‑Duty Construction Designed for Real Use. Built from 3/16″ high‑strength rolled plate steel, the Dethloff MFG. Engine and Transmission Skid Plate is formed to span the length of the oil pans and transmission pan area. It includes a specially placed cut‑out around the engine drain port so you can service the oil without needing to remove the entire plate. This aluminum or steel (depending on variant) assembly is designed to co‑exist with factory protection and works well with aftermarket drain valves (such as a Fumoto valve) while shielding them from impact.
Maintains Serviceability Without Sacrifice. One of the key design points is that you don’t have to remove the Dethloff MFG. Engine and Transmission Skid Plate just to change the engine oil. The cut‑out is sized so an aftermarket drain valve can be serviced from underneath. In the case of the Pentastar (3.6 L) and 5.7 L Hemi‑equipped vehicles, Dethloff specifically recommends installing an aftermarket drain valve when the skid plate is installed, since the stock drain is somewhat obstructed.
Clearance Considerations for Modified Setups. If you’ve lowered engine/transmission mounts, installed a deep transmission oil pan, or substantially modified suspension/drivetrain geometry, you should verify clearance between your lowest component and the underside of the Dethloff MFG. Engine and Transmission Skid Plate. The manufacturer notes that while the plate is generous, very deep aftermarket pans may require verification.

Warranty. There is a limited lifetime warranty on this product.
