It safeguards the engine oil pan, transmission oil pan, front driveshaft, transmission oil lines, and exhaust tube from damage caused by off-road obstacles including rocks, branches, and packed snow. Construction and Appearance. Made from formed 3/16-inch hot rolled pickled and oiled (HRPO) steel plate, the skid plate features a durable powder-coated black finish that resists corrosion and wear.
