So, if you own a '09 to 18 Hemi Equipped Ram 1500, you should be checking out the Corsa Sport 3-inch Cat-Back with the Split Rear Exit Configuration for a couple of reasons. Number one, you want, obviously, one of the most well-built systems thanks to the 304 stainless throughout. Number two, you want arguably one of the easiest to install exhausts currently available, I'll touch on that in a second. But number three, the most important, you want one of the nicest sounding exhausts currently available without producing any drone or noise inside the cab. Now, I say that because of Corsa managed to do something pretty cool with this exhaust system. Normally, with any exhaust system, the louder you get, you will experience some interior noise, and that's not the case with this system. That's thanks to the RSC or reflective sound cancellation technology. That's an entire topic in itself, but the short of it is they managed to produce a muffler that creates all kinds of good volume and tone, but again, there's no drone or really no noise inside the cab to speak of whatsoever. So, this is perfect if you want to turn some heads, but you want to keep things quiet on those long trips or the morning commute. Now with that in mind, I'm gonna go ahead and give the Corsa system a solid three out of five on my loudness meter. Now, I also said this was one of the easiest to install and that's thanks to the fact that we're actually using our factory mid-pipe. Most exhaust systems have a new mid-pipe or you have to cut some stuff, that's not the case here. All it is is the muffler and the tailpipe, so it makes things a lot easier, which is nice if you're doing this at home with hand tools. And again, number three, one of the most well-built systems, I'll touch on that more later, but that 304 stainless is basically the best steel that you can get for an exhaust system. So again, if you want one of the nicest sounding exhausts, you don't want to really change up the tone of the Hemi too much, but you just want to make it sound louder, you don't want any drone inside the cab, and you want a really easy install, stick around, I'm going to show you guys exactly how to get this bolted on and I'm gonna show you exactly what tools you need.It gets a soft two out of three wrenches on my difficulty meter, very straightforward, shouldn't take us more than two hours. So, without further ado, let's go ahead and get started. All right. To install your cat-back, at minimum, you will need a standard drive ratchet with a 15-millimeter deep socket. Now optional, but very helpful tools include an air gun with an impact swivel as well as a dead blow mallet, an exhaust hanger puller tool, and some spray lubricant. All right. First, we have to loosen the two clamps on our tailpipes here. You'll need a 15-millimeter deep socket from both of these. All right. If you're working with power tools like me, it is a bit of a squeeze, so it might help to have a swivel socket. All right. Now, that those two clamps are loose and we're gonna pull the tailpipes, you have to remove them from these rubber isolators here. These things can be a real pain in the ass, so it's helpful to have some spray lubricant handy. All right. Both of our tailpipes are removed. The next step is removing our muffler, which is also held in place with one of those band clamps. All right. So, we have our factory exhaust removed, we went ahead and we mocked up the new Corsa system. That way we can see how all of these crazy bends in these pipes go, so we make sure those tips are exiting nicely. And while we got these two systems next to each other, a couple of cool things to point out here. We are upgrading our tips there, those are 304 stainless just like the rest of the system, actually. The entire thing is made out of 304. That's the best stuff you can get, it's an upgrade over the factory-grade 409. You can see this has some corrosion on there. The Corsa system will continue to look a lot better than the factory system even if you take your truck off-road or you put it through some mud or things like that. Now, back to those tips real quick. They are larger in diameter, but they still fit the factory split rear exit bumper. They are four inches in diameter, so they're a little bit bigger, beefier, and they just looked better, in my humble opinion. And like I mentioned earlier, bolt-on application, we're not cutting anything because we are reusing our factory mid-pipe there, so we just got to bolt the muffler up with the tailpipes and we should be good to go and that job is very easy. Corsa made sure they reused all the factory hanger locations so there's no custom modification required otherwise. So, without further ado, let's go ahead and throw the muffler in place and I'll show you guys how to get everything oriented to make the install nice and easy. All right. So, first step is throwing our muffler in place. Before you do that, make sure you got that large 3-inch clamp here up on the factory pipe, and when you throw the muffler in place, there is a little drain hole down here on the bottom. You don't want this thing rusting out on the inside, so make sure that's oriented down. Now, when we throw this in place, we do want to play around with fitment. We're gonna have to rotate this thing so we're not actually going to tighten it. We're just gonna throw it up there. All right. Now that our muffler is in place, we're gonna throw on the over axle pipe with the hangers themselves, that way the muffler is not gonna fly all over the place we install our tailpipes. Before you throw this guy on the muffler, make sure you grab one of the 2-1/2-inch clamps and throw it on the outlet where this pipe is supposed to go. All right. Now that our muffler is secured and it's hung in place, we're gonna install our passenger's side tailpipe. Make sure you spray down that rubber isolator, make it easy to get that hanger in there, and also make sure you throw a 2-1/2-inch band clamp on the outside so you can tighten this guy down later. All right. Passenger's side is done. We're gonna do the same thing on the driver's side. Again, make sure you have one of those clamps and make sure you spray down these rubber isolators. All right. Now, comes the fun part and that's throwing on our exhaust tips. Again, go ahead and make sure you grab the two remaining clamps in the kit and throw them on the ends of the tailpipes. Once we get both exhaust tips on there, we're gonna play around with our fitment and rotate our muffler as necessary. Make sure both those tips are squared up on the exits on the bumper, then we can tighten everything down. You'll need a15-millimeter deep socket to tighten down all these clamps. All right. So, once you got both the tips in place and all those clamps tightened down, you should be good to go, right? Corsa makes it very easy to get this thing bolted on. And that wraps up my review of the Corsa Sport 3-inch Cat-Back with the Split Rear Exit Configuration fitting your '09 to '18 Hemi equipped Ram 1500. I'm Travis. Thanks for watching. Exactly What I've Been Searching For...
I finally found what I have been looking for in an exhaust system! This Corsa was simple to install and provides that deep V8 tone that my Magnaflow didn't. It is mostly quiet while at idle, but it's it a little gas and it wakes up the sleeping HEMI! Install was quick as soon as I got the existing exhaust off and the video is crucial to making sure you're putting in the new pipes correctly. I highly recommend this exhaust system.Helpful (2)
