Description
Hydraulic Roller Camshaft. The Comp Cams Big Mutha Thumpr 235/249 Hydraulic Roller Camshaft is designed for GM LS Gen III and IV 3-Bolt 8 Cylinder engines. It operates within an RPM range of 2,600 to 6,800, making it suitable for street and strip applications.
Design Details. This camshaft is intended for use with hydraulic roller lifters and offers advertised intake and exhaust durations of 291 and 311 degrees respectively, with durations at .050 inch lift of 235 intake and 249 exhaust. Valve lifts are 0.573 inches intake and 0.558 inches exhaust, with lobe lifts of 0.338 intake and 0.329 exhaust. It features a lobe separation angle of 109 degrees and an intake centerline of 103 degrees.
Installation. Installation requires moderate mechanical skill and follows standard camshaft replacement procedures for applicable GM LS engines. No drilling is necessary.
Warranty and Application. This camshaft includes a 12-month warranty covering manufacturing defects. It fits a broad range of GM LS Gen III/IV 3-Bolt 8 Cylinder engines produced between 1997 and 2015.
