Description
Enhanced Rear Visibility. The 3rd Brake Light Camera Kit for 4 to 8.4-Inch Display is designed to provide an additional rear camera view on the factory radio screen. It allows users to switch between the factory tailgate camera and the top-mounted third brake light camera, improving visibility of the truck bed area and trailer connections without the need for a spotter.
Construction and Appearance. This kit includes a trim bezel with a premounted high-definition CMOS camera featuring a swivel head for adjustable viewing. The assembly fits neatly behind the existing factory third brake light, maintaining an OEM look. The camera is weather-resistant with an IP67 rating, ensuring durability against dust and water exposure.
Installation. Installation involves removing the factory third brake light and replacing it with the trim bezel assembly, then connecting the included plug-and-play T-harness to the factory camera wiring inside the dash. No drilling is required, but accessing the radio's rear connector requires dash removal, so moderate installation skill is recommended.
Warranty. This product is backed by a three-year warranty that covers manufacturing defects and performance issues under normal use.
Application. Specifically designed to fit 2013-2018 RAM 2500 trucks equipped with a factory backup camera integrated into the factory radio display. Compatibility requires the factory tailgate camera to be operational and displayed on the vehicle’s screen.
