This steering damper employs a monotube gas-charged style with velocity-sensitive digressive valving similar to other 5100-series shock absorbers. These technologies work to provide greater steering control with an emphasis on a smoother feel. What’s more, this stabilizer will absorb steering vibrations typically present in older trucks to give you handling that feels like new.
Hefty Build Quality. Just like its shock absorber relatives, this steering damper features a 46mm shock body machined from premium alloy to offer excellent durability and heat dissipation. Likewise, its piston rod is machine-formed from chrome-hardened alloy for strength. The piston and piston seal is then protected by a high-grade poly dust boot. Finally, this assembly is finished in a hefty zinc plating before receiving a wear-resistant clear topcoat for protection against corrosion.
Easy Install Procedure. Installing this steering damper is relatively easy as it’s designed to replace your RAM’s factory counterpart without the need for additional modifications in most applications. Moreover, installation is completed using standard hand tools.
