Description
Electronic Exhaust Brake. The BD Power Exhaust Brake is an inline electronic exhaust brake designed specifically for 5-inch aftermarket exhaust systems on 2007.5–2012 6.7L RAM 2500/3500 diesel trucks. It enhances engine braking by producing up to 150 retarding horsepower, improving tow control and vehicle safety on steep descents by increasing back pressure in the exhaust system. This system offers reliable engine braking performance without the complexity of pneumatic components.
Construction and Appearance. Built from durable cast iron, this exhaust brake withstands high temperatures and the demanding conditions of the exhaust system. Its robust design ensures long service life and resistance to heat cycling, featuring a rugged finish suitable for heavy-duty truck undercarriages.
Installation. Installation is straightforward, requiring about three hours, and involves connecting the brake inline with the existing exhaust system. No drilling is necessary, and the system retains the use of the original equipment manufacturer’s dash button for easy operation. Note that engine tuning is required to maintain full exhaust brake functionality.
Warranty. Includes a 24-month/24,000-mile parts warranty and a 12-month/12,000-mile labor warranty for added peace of mind.
Application. This product fits 2007.5 through 2012 6.7L RAM 2500 and 3500 trucks equipped with 5-inch aftermarket exhaust systems. Engine tuning is necessary to retain full brake functionality. The exhaust brake is federally legal under EPA regulations but is not legal for sale on licensed California vehicles.
