Description
Performance Transmission Package. The BD Power 68RFE Transmission and Converter Package with Billet Input Shaft and Proforce 3D Converter; $2800 Core Charge Included combines a high-performance transmission with a matched torque converter designed for durability and enhanced power transfer. This package is engineered to handle demanding conditions such as towing, street driving, and track use, providing increased clutch capacity and reinforced internal components to meet the torque and horsepower of diesel engines.
_x000D__x000D_Construction and Appearance. The transmission features a hard anodized valve body, a custom bonded gasket separator plate that increases line pressure and prevents internal cross leaks, and heavy-duty cam and roller clutches with steel girdles for increased strength. It includes a billet input shaft to absorb rapid throttle shocks and high horsepower loads. The Proforce 3D torque converter has a triple-disc design, a stamp forged one-piece cover that eliminates warpage from clutch heat and allows for more frequent rebuilds, riveted pistons to ensure alignment and reduce vibration, and cast stators to maximize torque. The transmission also has a durable deep sump oil pan that adds extra fluid and cooling capacity while reducing case flex.
_x000D__x000D_Installation. Installation requires approximately 9 hours and is considered moderately challenging but does not involve drilling. Special tuning is required for 2019 and newer applications to increase line pressure; however, the line pressure controller is not included.
_x000D__x000D_Warranty. The package includes a parts warranty for 36 months or 150,000 miles and a labor warranty for 12 months or 24,000 miles. Race abuse is not covered under the warranty.
