Description
Ultimate 48RE Performance Upgrade. The BD Power 48RE Transmission and Converter Package with Stage 4 Stock Shaft and ProForce Converter is engineered to handle high-horsepower diesel applications with confidence. Designed as a complete performance solution, the BD Power 48RE Transmission and Converter Package with Stage 4 Stock Shaft and ProForce Converter delivers enhanced durability, improved clutch capacity, and optimized hydraulic control for demanding towing and competition use.
Construction and Appearance. This package features upgraded clutch counts, a Raybestos high temperature band, billet band lever and strut, and a drilled intermediate shaft for increased strength. An upgraded valvebody, governor solenoid, and pressure transducer work with increased line pressure of 190 to 200 psi to deliver firm, reliable shifts. The ProForce torque converter incorporates a cast aluminum stator, stamp forged steel front cover, and furnace brazed fins for maximum durability. A rigid aluminum heavy duty transmission pan adds two quarts of capacity and includes a magnetic drain plug, while the auxiliary full flow filter kit and cooler line case saver enhance long-term reliability. Each unit is dyno tested to ensure performance and quality.
Installation. Installation is considered hard and is recommended for professional installers or experienced transmission specialists. Transmission removal and significant mechanical expertise are required, and no drilling is necessary as it is designed for direct fitment.
