Description
Oil Cooler Upgrade. The Banks Power Oil Cooler Upgrade Kit is engineered to significantly reduce engine oil temperatures, maintaining optimal performance and reliability under demanding conditions. It enhances cooling efficiency to protect the engine during extended towing and high-load scenarios, ensuring operation within a safe temperature range critical for engine longevity and reliability.
Construction and Appearance. This kit features an advanced 19-plate oil cooler based on GM's 2020 Duramax L5P design, providing increased surface area and improved heat rejection. It includes a premium AMSOIL EAO17 oil filter, recognized for superior filtration efficiency and minimal oil pressure loss. All components are finished for durability and designed for proper fitment, with the cooler built to withstand high operating temperatures and pressures.
Installation. Installation is moderately challenging and recommended for experienced technicians or skilled enthusiasts. The kit includes all necessary hardware for a direct fit replacement, requiring no drilling.
Application. This oil cooler upgrade kit fits the 2011-2019 6.6L Duramax Silverado 2500 HD exactly, providing enhanced cooling capacity. Note that this kit is not compatible with late 2007.5–2010 LMM Duramax engines due to the presence of a factory EGR cooler.
