Justin: The Axial Smoke LED Side Markers that we're talking about here today would be a great option for the 2019 and newer Ranger owners who are looking to eliminate that eyesore bright orange reflector in the front flare and maybe add some modern LED lighting at the same time. Now, the Axials will pack a smoked polycarbonate build along with the plug-and-play install all for right around the $40 to $50 price point for the pair. So, first things first here, guys, I do wanna say that if you're just simply looking to smoke those front marker lights on your Ranger, you can certainly save a few bucks and just go with maybe a traditional vinyl tin option instead, which will deliver, I would say similar results but without the fancy lighting. Now, on the other hand, if you really do dig that smoked look, you'd like a perfect result, and at the same time would also like to add some brightness through a modern LED, well, then the Axials may just be the option for you. Now, let's talk a little bit more about that unique lighting pattern because unlike the factory markers in those front fender flares that utilize a single bulb incandescent bulb, the Axials on the other hand will utilize a number of high-intensity amber LEDs that will illuminate the entire length of the marker itself. Now, again, compare that to the factory housing, especially if you've done one with the vinyl that we just mentioned, and you're gonna get that lone little dull hotspot in the middle while the rest of the light is just kind of dead, for lack of a better word. Not the end of the day, of course, but not necessarily the best look either. Now, those Axials on the other hand will shine nice and bright again, thanks to the amber LEDs that will really offer a sharp and distinct look. Now, those LEDs are going to be housed in the ABS plastic base, finally topped off with that smoked polycarbonate lens, and will be a carbon copy of the factory lights from a design or footprint aspect just meaning they're gonna be a direct replacement without the need to do any modification. Now, the Axials have been both DOT and SAE approved. And last but not least, there is again, no wiring needed here, guys, everything is completely plug-and-play, which will make for a very, very easy install.Speaking of which, site is gonna call this one a pretty soft one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, maybe 15 minutes of your time to complete from start to finish. But now, to give you a better idea of just how exactly things will go down on your Ranger at home, here's a detailed walkthrough by an AT customer. Check it out.Dan: Hi, everybody. My name is Dan and I'm gonna show you how to install the Axial LED side marker lights, in this case on my Ford Ranger, which is a 2020 model. And the reason you might wanna do this, is it's purely aesthetic. It just looks neat. It helps make this light, which you can see today kinda jumps out from the trim a little bit more integrated in the trim during daylight running time. And it certainly stands out with the LED at nighttime. So, what you'll get in the box from Axial is two of these LED lights, which are pure replacements. And you also get the instruction set, which we'll take you step-by-step how to go through this. It's really pretty basic. If you can install floor mats, you can install this system. So, just a couple of other things, we'd like to talk about what tools do you use. These are the tools I'll be using today, my two hands. This is pretty straightforward. This operation is pretty well designed because, in the OEM sidelight, you've got to be able to remove it in case your light does go out.The real trick here is finding the spot to push to be able to pop out the OEM light and then replace it. So, just so you can see close up what these look like, this is the light I'm going to replace it with from Axial. This is the same OEM light from the driver side, which I've already replaced. And just so you get a look up close, what we're doing is reaching in and pressing on this little retaining clip to be able to push it down and pop out the bottom corner of this OEM light. Same sort of thing you had on the other side where you press down here to push it out. So, this is really the big trick of this job.So, let me get these out of the way and we'll go ahead and pop this one out. So, what you wanna do, this is designed to be able to be removed because this is how you would replace the light in the OEM housing if it burned out. So, what we wanna do, the inner fender protector, if you follow that all the way down to the end on the inside, there's a gap where it joins against another piece of internal trim. So we fold that down, we put our finger in there, index finger, and start to try and find the point to push. And you can see I'm all around here. We might have to come in with the other side. See, I push that free, and out pops from the bottom corner. So, what we wanna do now is take off the original OEM housing, twist it off, put that out of our way. And you can see we also have the OEM bulb. So, we'll pull that out, and also get that out of our way, and the Axial just plugs right in to the wiring harness here. So, we'll do the plug, push it on in. Make sure you get a good connection. All right. And before I pop that in, I'm gonna run around and make sure that this is actually connected correctly by turning on my lights. So, give me a moment and we'll check that out.So, as you can see, when I turn the lights on, it in fact worked. So, that's good. So, now what we'll do to fully house this and keep it weathertight, you wanna push in till it locks. Twist it so it stays locked. Push it in here and get the top corner up in the end, and then push in the bottom corner. And there you have it. A nice new custom look with this LED side light from Axial.Justin: So, if you'd like to add a small mod that will make a big impact in cleaning up the front end appearance on that Ranger all while introducing some modern LED lighting at the same time, then you'll definitely wanna consider the Axial Smoked Side Markers right here at americantrucks.com.
