These running boards automatically extend when the doors open and retract when closed, offering a convenient, space-saving design. With a 3-inch lower stepping surface than standard PowerSteps, the XL version is ideal for high-clearance setups, making entry and exit easier and safer.

      Construction and Appearance. Built from die-cast aluminum-alloy components with a military-spec finish, the PowerStep XL boards are engineered for strength and resilience in any environment. The black wrinkle coat resists chips, scratches, and corrosion, while the textured surface enhances traction. Integrated LED lighting adds low-profile illumination, and precision stainless steel pivot pins provide rock-solid stability. Each unit supports up to 600 pounds and includes sealed, maintenance-free bushings and weatherproof motors for long-term reliability.

      Installation. Installation is moderately difficult and requires electrical wiring directly to the battery, along with mounting to the truck's frame. The fully integrated bracket system and detailed instructions make it achievable for skilled DIYers or professionals.

      Warranty. The Amp Research PowerStep XL Running Boards include a five-year / 60,000 mile warranty.
